This trip to Las Vegas with the new set is probably the reason they changed the theme music during this season rather than during season 26. Personally, I would have rather seen them use the old theme for the regular games, and debut both the new set and new theme music during this trip to Las Vegas, but that's just my opinion.

@opal0022 In my opinion, i would've rather seen them keep the 2001 theme music for Seasons 25 and 26 but using the alternate version that was used for most road shows in earlier seasons and debut the new theme music in Season 27.

Jeopardy kept the 1992 theme when they debuted the sushi bar set in 1996

from what i hear this will be the new set used for the next season...i like it but i think they should add a new light show the set looks a lil bare still.....they should add like some of those light effects that game shows used back in the late 80's early 90's u no just go all out lol

Yes, this is supposedly "the new set"; however, there will be changes/modifications made to it. It won't look exactly like this in the studio. This was kind of a trial showcasing more of the new technological features of the new coming set. There will be more to it and other lighting features. Plenty of color changing LED's. I know one thing producers wanted to fix are minimizing the black borders around each plasma on the board. They want a seemless board like in the current studio set.

I notice that the set turns purple just after Alex's introduction. I wish they would have waited to turn it purple for DJ! It would have been a great throwback to the color change in the original set(s).
