Not a big fan of Asian styling, though the Stealth/3000GT is alright when the wing is off. And of course the Scoobies are pretty cool looking. these are the best sounding inline 4's but for a 4 cylinder i think i like the sound of a boxer engine found in the STi's more, they have a nice rumble wich a lot of 4 cylinders don't so SRT4 and STi FTW

@PutzkiSniper I have never seen a commemorative edition for sale or on the street. The black ACR may not be stock, it has s-style eyelids which is cool but i bet it at least has an air intake. I found 2 orange srt4s. one north of me and one east of me. the one east of me is 100% stock, has 28k miles. The srt4 up north has 30k miles, never abused, and its only mods are lowering springs, new shocks to support the springs, and a mopar bov. All i would have to do is all the s-style eyelids lol

straight line wise yes, sound wise...the SRT4 kills the evo in exhaust, price for power, the SRT4, but around a track/corners, the EVO kills the srt4. But gas is better on a FWD than AWD...lots of ups and downs :)
@38speshul Research? okay as far as being sold to kids on the street for competitive pricing they are in the same category. Yes one is FWD one is AWD. One is USDM other is JDM.. etc... differences i know. But last i checked these were Average Joe's on Youtube talking about Street "Racing" I dont' see any Professional race cars or Major Sponsors, Or any SERIOUS Performance work, that would suggest they are in different categories and are competing for anything other than bragging rights.
@ksteezy69 Well actually the Gen 1 Neon's and SRT-4's were and are still used COMPETITIVELY in major SCCA tournaments, and the SRT-4's were used in rally cross tournaments professionally as well, but in small amounts due to the 3 year production of the SRT. They faired very well in both fields, and hold titles in both. So they were a very successful vehicle, both of them that is.

Great car. I never understood why everyone always replaced the exhaust and rims on these. They sounded and looked great from the factory. Mine was awesome. Of course now i have a charger srt8 but up until buying that this was the fastest car i ever owned and i had a 2g eclipse and a tt 3000gt

I didnt get old. Im 25 years old, im just successful enough at my job that i can afford a better car. Not to mention my family. Not only do i drive it daily but my wife takes my car once in a while with kids. Im not saying an evo is a bad car, but numbers can be put anyway someone wants, but its the driver who makes the time. Ive been racing since i was 16 and that is a fact, its not the car, its the driver. Thing is that the SRT8 suits me better than any of those other cars, and is still fast.
Wrong. People run 13.7-13.9 stock Srt-4's at the track. It's not even close to 14.6. That's more stock WRX numbers and if you're claiming a stock WRX can take an SRT-4 in the quarter A. You're in denial. B. You don't know much about cars. Wrx runs a 14.5 stock the Srt-4 runs a 13.8 ish stock. It's more competitive with the s2000 and 350z than the STI or Evo. Evo and Sti run about 13.4's stock.. the Z runs 13.8 and the s2000 runs about a 14 second.
hahaha, even the professional drivers on magazines like C&D, road and track etc couldnt get the SRT-4 to break into the 13's. a WRX will wax it off the line, and then the srt-4 will start to catch up to it. at the end, they run about the same 1/4 mile time. you would have to have slicks running at sea level to break into the 13's. and you're statement doesnt even make sense. you dont have the slightest clue whether i "dont know much ab cars" or not
You're kidding right? I'll present evidence now. Go to albeedigital (dot) com. It's a list composed of ALL stock cars quarter mile and 0-60 times.. based on magazines and tests. 03 Srt-4 is 13.9 quarter mile... 04 is 14.1. Quit fabricating things. Their wrx test from 02 ran a 14.4 (closer to what i said than you) and even the new 07 ones only run a 14.1 quarter. You should probably research.. or you start to sound moronic and biased.
Regardless... if we go lets say half mile... Srt-4 will be about 10 car lengths ahead.. due to the Rex having AWD... Which makes higher speeds power distributions cause a loss of high end speed. Which is why RWD will always put up better quarter mile times... infact even FWD cars can put up a faster quarter mile than AWD unless we are talking a Skyline of course.. which is in it's own league of amazing engineering.
I'm an import guy.. but i wouldn't begin to tell you the WRX could smoke an SRT-4 stock for stock in a straight line. Not to mention.. I've personally seen stock SRT-4's keep up with STI's pretty good. I test drove the SRT-4 and WRX... right now about to buy the Honda S2000... but... trust me the SRT-4 had way less turbo lag.. and much harder pull. They were an 04 Rex and an 03 SRT-4.
yes, a FWD can post faster times sometimes b/c it has less drivetrain loss than AWD. and no, i didnt fabricate anything. ive been subscribed to C&D, plus road and track for years, and never did i once see a srt-4 break 13's. the best i ever saw was 14.3, and car and driver usually posts the best times possible. its not biased, its the truth. you will NOT see people all the time at the track running 13's, hate to burst your bubble bud.
I agree 100 percent. Just saying i have seen it. Most will run a 14.1-14.2 ish.. but that will still smoke a stock Rex. Remember the 05 or 06 Rex got a torque boost.. and an improved turbo to help the powerband give less turbo lag. So... I'm meaning 02-05 Rex VS 03-05 Srt-4 ... which was when they were competing with each other pretty good. I would take the Rex for reliability... but if you are gonna tell me it has more straight line power.. it simply doesn't.
Wrx puts out 193 hp ish at the wheels. I've seen them Dyno'd. The SRT-4 puts down 252 ish HP and 260 Torque on some Dyno meters.. It's a car that's actually known to UNDERRATE the HP ratings... I'm telling you when i drove the Rex.. pre 4k rpm's.. it was as slow as my civic... but the Srt-4 pulled VERY hard from about 2.5k rpm... it literally is the only car to ever throw my head back into my seat lol
Plus.. people that are smart spend an extra 3k for a used STI. You can get maybe an 04 WRX for 15k... or you can buy an 04 sti for 17-19k... I don't get why people think adding boost and an exhaust... will = an Sti lol. They end up spending the same and having a worse suspension,weaker internals, non reinforced engine.. and worse seats and everything.
ur a da with that auto tranny 03 srt4 is rated 215 o4 srt is 230 rated now 15hp isnt much but for sure the 04 is goin to be a bit faster and will still nt run 13s at sea level an 03 for sure wont so ur web site is just as good as wikepedia lol you can edit the shit stupid referance
There was never an auto SRT-4. They have always come in standard transmission only. Btw i just smoked an M3. It wasn't 2001 and up of course.. or i would of gotten destroyed.. but still fun.

Hey man.. I got a 2004 red,lowered srt-4 yesterday with 76k miles. SICK ASS RIDE. It came with chrome and red rims, Catback exhaust, aftermarket ignition, cold air intake, blow off valve. Had a WRX pull up next to me to race last night. As expected he took me by 1-2 car lengths off the line but in second gear i blew past him. So like i was tellin ya. Now i know first hand!! ; ). We both had cold air intake and catback exhaust. I have an aftermarket ignition.. but that's not much extra power.
haha nice. well, my dad has an 02 rex with a full 3 inch exhaust while my friends 04 SRT4 only has a MSD ignition coil. ive driven both. you can tell the srt-4 has more torque, but my dad's car just feels peppier. i still like his car though, i could tell a big throttle response difference with the MSD installed.
Main reasons i steered away from the rex are; A. Too much turbo lag. The turbo kicks in at about 2500 where the rex i drove which was an 04.. turbo didn't kick in till about 3500. Plus.. I'm putting down about 275 torque at the wheels.. so naturally it will feel less laggy to me. Wrx also costs about 3-5k more for same year and same mileage.. so this was more in my budget ; ). It got some adjustments today.
Yea the srt-4 is slower in first gear.. but when you hit second.. it throws you back hard. I love this car but because it's American it's not as durable.. therefor was about 4k cheaper than a REX. Which is what pretty much made my decision. Plus i like the torque and looks better of the SRT-4. On Friday Dodge is gonna look at it.. because i have a little engine noise. 2004 was the fastest year the Srt-4 was made.. so i got lucky

@PutzkiSniper I have never seen a commemorative edition for sale or on the street. The black ACR may not be stock, it has s-style eyelids which is cool but i bet it at least has an air intake. I found 2 orange srt4s. one north of me and one east of me. the one east of me is 100% stock, has 28k miles. The srt4 up north has 30k miles, never abused, and its only mods are lowering springs, new shocks to support the springs, and a mopar bov. All i would have to do is all the s-style eyelids lol

straight line wise yes, sound wise...the SRT4 kills the evo in exhaust, price for power, the SRT4, but around a track/corners, the EVO kills the srt4. But gas is better on a FWD than AWD...lots of ups and downs :)

One is USDM other is JDM.. etc... differences i know. But last i checked these were Average Joe's on Youtube talking about Street "Racing" I dont' see any Professional race cars or Major Sponsors, Or any SERIOUS Performance work, that would suggest they are in different categories and are competing for anything other than bragging rights.

@ksteezy69 Well actually the Gen 1 Neon's and SRT-4's were and are still used COMPETITIVELY in major SCCA tournaments, and the SRT-4's were used in rally cross tournaments professionally as well, but in small amounts due to the 3 year production of the SRT. They faired very well in both fields, and hold titles in both. So they were a very successful vehicle, both of them that is.

Great car. I never understood why everyone always replaced the exhaust and rims on these. They sounded and looked great from the factory. Mine was awesome. Of course now i have a charger srt8 but up until buying that this was the fastest car i ever owned and i had a 2g eclipse and a tt 3000gt

My point is u spend 30gs on that car and im sorry but i raced some evo 8s and beat them, not by much, but did, and i spent half on my car with mods than they did stock. I didnt get old. Im 25 years old, im just successful enough at my job that i can afford a better car. Not to mention my family. Not only do i drive it daily but my wife takes my car once in a while with kids. Im not saying an evo is a bad car, but numbers can be put anyway someone wants, but its the driver who makes the time. Ive been racing since i was 16 and that is a fact, its not the car, its the driver. Thing is that the SRT8 suits me better than any of those other cars, and is still fast.

Wrong. People run 13.7-13.9 stock Srt-4's at the track. It's not even close to 14.6. That's more stock WRX numbers and if you're claiming a stock WRX can take an SRT-4 in the quarter A. You're in denial. B. You don't know much about cars. Wrx runs a 14.5 stock the Srt-4 runs a 13.8 ish stock. It's more competitive with the s2000 and 350z than the STI or Evo. Evo and Sti run about 13.4's stock.. the Z runs 13.8 and the s2000 runs about a 14 second.

hahaha, even the professional drivers on magazines like C&D, road and track etc couldnt get the SRT-4 to break into the 13's. a WRX will wax it off the line, and then the srt-4 will start to catch up to it. at the end, they run about the same 1/4 mile time. you would have to have slicks running at sea level to break into the 13's. and you're statement doesnt even make sense. you dont have the slightest clue whether i "dont know much ab cars" or not

You're kidding right? I'll present evidence now. Go to albeedigital (dot) com. It's a list composed of ALL stock cars quarter mile and 0-60 times.. based on magazines and tests. 03 Srt-4 is 13.9 quarter mile... 04 is 14.1. Quit fabricating things. Their wrx test from 02 ran a 14.4 (closer to what i said than you) and even the new 07 ones only run a 14.1 quarter. You should probably research.. or you start to sound moronic and biased.

Regardless... if we go lets say half mile... Srt-4 will be about 10 car lengths ahead.. due to the Rex having AWD... Which makes higher speeds power distributions cause a loss of high end speed. Which is why RWD will always put up better quarter mile times... infact even FWD cars can put up a faster quarter mile than AWD unless we are talking a Skyline of course.. which is in it's own league of amazing engineering.

I'm an import guy.. but i wouldn't begin to tell you the WRX could smoke an SRT-4 stock for stock in a straight line. Not to mention.. I've personally seen stock SRT-4's keep up with STI's pretty good. I test drove the SRT-4 and WRX... right now about to buy the Honda S2000... but... trust me the SRT-4 had way less turbo lag.. and much harder pull. They were an 04 Rex and an 03 SRT-4.

yes, a FWD can post faster times sometimes b/c it has less drivetrain loss than AWD. and no, i didnt fabricate anything. ive been subscribed to C&D, plus road and track for years, and never did i once see a srt-4 break 13's. the best i ever saw was 14.3, and car and driver usually posts the best times possible. its not biased, its the truth. you will NOT see people all the time at the track running 13's, hate to burst your bubble bud.

I agree 100 percent. Just saying i have seen it. Most will run a 14.1-14.2 ish.. but that will still smoke a stock Rex. Remember the 05 or 06 Rex got a torque boost.. and an improved turbo to help the powerband give less turbo lag. So... I'm meaning 02-05 Rex VS 03-05 Srt-4 ... which was when they were competing with each other pretty good. I would take the Rex for reliability... but if you are gonna tell me it has more straight line power.. it simply doesn't.

Wrx puts out 193 hp ish at the wheels. I've seen them Dyno'd. The SRT-4 puts down 252 ish HP and 260 Torque on some Dyno meters.. It's a car that's actually known to UNDERRATE the HP ratings... I'm telling you when i drove the Rex.. pre 4k rpm's.. it was as slow as my civic... but the Srt-4 pulled VERY hard from about 2.5k rpm... it literally is the only car to ever throw my head back into my seat lol

Plus.. people that are smart spend an extra 3k for a used STI. You can get maybe an 04 WRX for 15k... or you can buy an 04 sti for 17-19k... I don't get why people think adding boost and an exhaust... will = an Sti lol. They end up spending the same and having a worse suspension,weaker internals, non reinforced engine.. and worse seats and everything.

Hey man.. I got a 2004 red,lowered srt-4 yesterday with 76k miles. SICK ASS RIDE. It came with chrome and red rims, Catback exhaust, aftermarket ignition, cold air intake, blow off valve. Had a WRX pull up next to me to race last night. As expected he took me by 1-2 car lengths off the line but in second gear i blew past him. So like i was tellin ya. Now i know first hand!! ; ). We both had cold air intake and catback exhaust. I have an aftermarket ignition.. but that's not much extra power.

haha nice. well, my dad has an 02 rex with a full 3 inch exhaust while my friends 04 SRT4 only has a MSD ignition coil. ive driven both. you can tell the srt-4 has more torque, but my dad's car just feels peppier. i still like his car though, i could tell a big throttle response difference with the MSD installed.

Main reasons i steered away from the rex are; A. Too much turbo lag. The turbo kicks in at about 2500 where the rex i drove which was an 04.. turbo didn't kick in till about 3500. Plus.. I'm putting down about 275 torque at the wheels.. so naturally it will feel less laggy to me. Wrx also costs about 3-5k more for same year and same mileage.. so this was more in my budget ; ). It got some adjustments today.

Yea the srt-4 is slower in first gear.. but when you hit second.. it throws you back hard. I love this car but because it's American it's not as durable.. therefor was about 4k cheaper than a REX. Which is what pretty much made my decision. Plus i like the torque and looks better of the SRT-4. On Friday Dodge is gonna look at it.. because i have a little engine noise. 2004 was the fastest year the Srt-4 was made.. so i got lucky
