Hey guys, I've found a forum where a climatology of storm tracks is detailed. It is wonderful, the origins, names, central pressure, associated weather, and times to be expected are there. Some names you may have not heard of others are all too familiar. Search for Storm Track Climatology and you may find two versions. Simply pick the one you like and reference that. Ever heard of Southland Tempests, Great Plains Duster or Piedmont Cyclone?

@eichasj1 I agree i've been telling others the same thing. We started out with snow in late october and then it just dissappeared. Its been a mild november and mild december and no snow on christmas :( and then it goes all the way up to the 50's starting in jan 2012

This is THE BEST forecast I've seen so far, and I've looked at lots of them! I feel good about our chances of snow here in central Georgia are much better, at least through half the times in the Winter. Although Winter is very close by, it's still a bit far so these forecasts still have plenty of times to change. If they change, hopefully our chances of snow will be higher than what they are now, but I really dought that. This is the deep south after all. :p
Bravo on the winter forecast. I have studied the winter forecast since July. I agree 100% on your forecast. Winter anologues 2008-2009, 1995-1996, 1962-1963, 1917-1918, 1898-1899. Could be some big ones early on for northern va.
the mid-atlantic is predicted for above normal snowfall this winter, even the old farmers almanac is predicting it over there and the old farmers almanac is pretty and if it is predicting it for Maryland, I believe it.
like the presentation although i do think you have the south much too warm. great analog for this year is 1917-18. also 1893. we shall see though. great presentation though very professional sounding.
@weathercast100 my main thinking on why the south ( mainly Texas and Louisiana ) are too warm is you have to look at were the cold will want to go. that would be naturaly south regardless but if you look at the above average water temps off the south east, there will be a lot of upward motion left over from hurricane season well into the heart of winter. that will pull any cold air available ( which will be abundant ) southward. just explaining myself in that regard.
It was wrong in the Northwest till this week came along and brought snow followed by Ice in Seattle.
