@zmh1988 This is the SE version, so it's already street legal. The S version is street legal (e-start added in 94 for "SE")
Making a dirt only DR350 street legal is not trivial in most states. The cost of the parts is not that bad (tank, mirrors, signals, etc ≈ $200), but passing inspection is usually nearly impossible.
@entoptics thanks for the info, it was very helpful..so it comes street legal right off the floor? Also, I am 5'10" 200 lbs. Would that be an alright fit for me? I'd be mainly riding around the city, smaller highways
@zmh1988 Two DR models. DR350S = street legal, DR350 = dirt only. E-start (SE) was added to the street models in 95. Even if your DR350S has been modded to illegal, it is still easier to get a plate than a dirt model that's had all "legal" mods added. Inspectors tend to pay attention to the VIN number more than the actual features.
Your height is good for the DR, your weight may require stiffer springs if you ride offroad agressively (used = $100, new = $250). Relaxed pace stock is fine.
Hey did you ever find the reason for your bike to sound like that? Mine sounds the same as well. Also does it hurt the bike to run like that? I have a DR250D .
It is the automatic cam chain tensioner. Suzuki's are bad about this. I had the same problem. Order a manual cam chain adjuster for about 50.00 from APE performance. A very quick and easy fix. You do not need a new cam chain
mines starting to sound exactly like this i doe the valve clearncess n it hast made much difference, cud u tell me wat was wrong with your bike to make it sound like this????? cheers
cam chain is a bit noisy, otherwise it sounds pretty normal for an electric start DR. beware the exhaust cam follower wear on the pad on the rocker arm thanks to the centrifugal compression relief designed to assist the puny starter into working. unfortunately, it cuts also.
anyone know a ballpark price on how much it would be to make this a dual sport? (streel legal)?? thanks!

@flybike20 From my understanding, it's not abnormal. This video was several thousand miles ago, and the bike still runs fine and sounds the same.
