It not the lack of resources in Sudan. Its actually a combination of the issue of oil and fear of similar consequences to Somalia. Sudan is one China's largest oil suppliers, and it is the money from this oil that is fueling much of the genocide. The reason that none of the world powers have stepped in to stop the genocide is that it would hurt China's economy and create conflict between China and the country that stepped in. Sadly, world leaders see China as a greater threat than Sudan

Im far from republican and I really dont like bush but he really doesnt have the only say in who we declare war on and like I said before, we would have to focus on all of Africa... and why do u think we went into Iraq? humanitarian rights not oil but after we finished occupation, we realized it was just sitting there so now we take it. Also, the issues in Darfur can be solved by diplomacy not violence and probably will be thats why the republicans arent doing anything about it

Hi. I'm no fan of Bush either, but it's not actually his job, or indeed that of the US, to sort out everyone else's problems. You should be talking about Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir and his henchmen (not least the Janjaweed) on this one, not Bush; about Khartoum, not Washington DC. And there are also black "Muslim crabs" in Africa who are among humanity's finest, so more tact and equity would help if you're serious about helping Sudan.

you are mixing images here - you've basically lumped together images from all sorts of humanitarian crises, without any context or history. it's effective on a basic level, but in order to actually deal with these issues, we have to understand their contexts and basis in history, etc. activism is great, but how many activists really understand what they're protesting? etc ... because in that video, you also included famine and things unrelated to the darfur genocide.

With a little education I think that you will find that the majority of the world doesn't have access to contraceptives the way the "developed nations" do. Unfortunately, there are a great deal of women forced to have children do to rape, inequality in marriages and again no access to contraceptive or sexual education.
