A man watched this movie alone, in a cinema, back in 2002 when he was sick. He realized that, all those years he didn't know. So he got treatment, meds and rehab for like a entire year. Now, nine year later, he's healthy; nobody would imagine he was so fucked up, cause he's happy now, with a son, a good job and soon... another girlfriend. Sometimes he listen this song (the pursuit) to remember, to stay healthy, smiling.

This music is intense and sad at the same time. This movie is so sad...because it makes you think that there are people out there like Sy who are sad and lonely and desperate wanting someone who understands and loves him.

I can't put my finger on why, but to me this music (especially when the strings come in) perfectly signifies the feeling of your entire life collapsing and finding yourself with nowhere to run at your darkest hour. Which fits that moment in the film really well.

People aptly describe the score in this movie as "creepy" but personally I find it really, really devastatingly sad.

@tzohar Not creepy at all! The sadness of the main theme is transposed to describe his anxious feelings of his life's crescendo. Cleverly done.

after fleeing the hotel is astonishing.

The soundtrack genre is a very undervalued area of film/movies.Maybe to

show more live concerts of film composer

would be appreaciated by the public more.

They did, but most of those scores were of movies that were either too old, or they chose the least known composings.

The only one I recognized was the Golden Compass score.

I think the score really does make the film so much richer, it perfectly portrays the lonliness and anxiety that Sy is constantlty feeling.
