  • unequal length. still sounds like an F body.

  • Well you got another person interested in the 93-97 camaro setup. Get it done, plz. lol

  • It sounds nice but waaaaaaay toooo loud. is there an option for cats and a different muffler with a quieter tone?

  • @vanmbondjr1 call them they might i know they do custom stuff i got mine with just single tips. its a good exhaust for street and strip. for all of you who have a y pipe and a cutout and always leave the cutout open you should buy this. it flows better than any y pipe and sounds way better with the x pipe.

  • Cats should quiet it down a little, right? I've had LOUD exhausts before and I'm not looking for that anymore. Loud enough to know it's there is what I'm aiming for. No drone?

  • i think this is pretty much the best system out right now for the 4th gen. they should've done this 10 years ago. sounds incredible, very smooth grumble, and the quad tips look awesome on the t/a. for a camaro, i think a CME setup with this true dual catback would sound and look just as awesome.

this makes me want to pick up another ls1 t/a and do a heads/cam with these true duals.

  • Will this system still pass emissions with the catted system? And how much horsepower would this free up without a full tune?

  • @pbguy357 That depends on how strict your emissions are...where i live all they do is plug into the obd-II port and check for codes...do they do an inspection where you live and/or do a tailpipe rod tester?

  • tips look stupid... too big for under the bumper...

  • @superdan9er I actually think the tips look good, i guess its a matter of taste but you can always change the tips, i think this system as a whole is top notch, makes the car sound the way it should be, mean and aggressive!

  • Say someone already has a custom dual setup, and wanted those mufflers, what part number would they be ordering? :)

  • @ilovechevy1 you might want to do some research before you start throwing prices out. I paid $750 for my kooks 1 7/8 headers, and $1350 for my kooks true duals. Thats $2100. Both had free shipping. $2100 is very reasonable when you consider the alternatives. GOOD headers ($750) good y-pipe ($300) good catback like a CORSA ($1100). Thats $2150 right there for a y-pipe exhaust system.

  • @orangez34 nice firebird u have there sir check out my procharged SS on my channel if u get the chance.. but i stand by my statements..i'm making 520 RWHP through my very very old Mac MIDTUBE headears and Y pipe with Mac cats and a borla catback..would i pick up 20-30 RWHP by going to this over 2000+ dollar Kooks true duel system?..yes probally so..it may would even sound a lil better (wich mine sounds great)..but my next step will be a 500 dollar set or pacesetters with an included Y pipe

  • @orangez34 i looked and the cheapest i could find the Kooks true duel system was for 1,600...i mean damn..it's not magical or anything..it's just alluminum piping bent very carefully..i looks awesome and of great quality but there are ppl makeing ALOT of HP on waaay cheaper exhaust systems out there that sound just as good..besides those big duel tips out the back on my SS would look hideous..i like my Borla ones better..i'm not trying to hate i just personally think they cost tooooo much

  • @ilovechevy1 aluminium piping? lol. it's 304 stainless. It will last longer than the car. I understand the budget thing, if you really want to know where to get the true duals for $1350 with free shipping send me an email: orangez34@aol.com or look me up on ls1tech (transws6am). Kooks does offer a single tip version of the true duals.....

  • @orangez34 ok..i may just do that when i get the moola for those things..thanks

  • @orangez34 but best total price i found for a COMPLETE system headers and all is 700 for headers, 1,600 for the true duesl system..not to mention atleast 150 more for the needed BMR parts to make it all fit..so thats a total of atleast 2,300..ummm.no..that's waay out of most ppl's budget..i mean i just bought a used Moser 12 bolt fully assembled and upgraded driveshaft all together for only 1,400..i can make huge HP and bad ass sound with cheaper LT's and a nice Y pipe

  • if this system does'nt come with the headers then this system is overpriced..it is awesome and sounds good and Kooks make some the best exhaust on the market but nearly 2k for x pipe and the rest of the exhaust going out the back and you don't even get the headers??!!..i was very interested in this package till i found out it does't have headers..you guys should include them and still drop the price to around 1,500..hell the 98-2002 F bodies are 10 years or older now..too pricey

  • hope to have this system on my 98 Z28 one day. minus the LT's.

  • Will it work with the factory panhard rod or would I need a relocator?

  • I have an APS Twin Turbo system with 3" downpipes and was wondering how much modification I would have to do to the system or my downpipes to make this work, I do not have a local shop with a mandrel bender.

  • Kookstv, I want to know if a big 9" rear or a Moser M9 will fit with the mandrel 3" pipes, and will this kit have any problems with other mods.

What is the lowest you can lower your car before stuff starts hitting?

  • ?Do you have this Exhaust System with more Quiet Muffler

    I am interested

  • That is a sick setup. How much horsepower do you get?

  • Well if i had the money this would be the setup i would use, Sweet looking and sounding. How would the clearance be if you have your car lowered? My was lowered an inch and a quarter all aorund?

  • Will this system fit a 2001 convertible Trans Am WS6?

  • Will this fit a Watts Link setup?

  • that is an UGLY hood, but I do wish I had that exhaust, seems like it would fit my LT1 with FLP headers with just a bit of massaging

  • @ 94riosnake - yes we will have tip options if you have a camaro.

@ csuzak - no clearance issues, and now the TA in the video does have work done to it.

  • are you gonna have a tip option?.......I hate dual duals especially since I dont have a trans am or firebird

  • I bought the 6500RHS 1-3/4 race headers & 6502S ORY for my car that I've yet to install, after seeing this, now I'm never going to install it. I wonder if I could get someone to work out a trade with me? Does anybody know if this will fit with a Watts link instead of a panhard setup?

  • @wesdg1978 You selling them?

I have ARH headers... Would your ORY fit?

    Hit me up...

  • @ericsanchez2005 Yeah, I'm selling them. I don't think the ORY would fit the ARH headers though. I'll make you a deal one whole setup though, they've never been used.

  • @ericsanchez2005 Yeah, I'm selling them. I don't think the ORY would fit the ARH headers though. I'll make you a deal on the whole setup though, they've never been used.

  • How's the ground clearance for the catted system? And is the Trans-Am stock except the exhaust system?

This is probably the best sound of an LS1 I've heard on youtube

  • Comment removed

  • Love it!! Gonna get it for mine. Thanks Kooks.

  • Not that the mufflers sound bad or don't perform well, but can you put on any muffler you want instead of the Kooks? Just curious, it already sounds awesome.

  • Will it work with other headers? (I have ARH headers on my trans am)

  • @ItsStockish It was designed around the Kooks headers, so I do not believe it will fit with those. I could set yo up with a good package deal on the headers and exhaust if you want to replace those other headers.

  • @Kookstv How much for the headers and exhaust shipped to Indianapolis?

  • i was wondering is this only for the ls1 v8 and whatever high power engine pontiac makes to match the ls1 or can it fit the 3800 series v6 aswell?

  • @vampiresremedy666 This is just meant for the LS1.

  • would this fit on the 93-97's? this is kinda a dumb question..

  • @SySTeM4T1c

We will be testing it shortly. As for right now, it is just meant for the LS1.

  • @Kookstv how much i would love a good x-pipe system on my 96', what results you could find, could you PM me if it isnt too much of a hassle?

  • @SySTeM4T1c it should fit because it's pretty much the same. The LT1 and LS1 midpipe and catback are pretty much the same design. The only difference is the headers. So i dont really see any difference.

  • you would have to be a "Kook" not to buy this. I wish I bought this insted of Borla. this would be great for heads and a huge cam!

  • You ought to consider offering a package with a pair of No Weeds diverters on this bad boy! It's likely the only thing missing ;)

  • Any plans for a 3800 F-Body version along with LT Headers to match? ;)

  • Great looking and sounding system KOOKS! I commend you! I, and others from ls1tech, have question though. Will this system allow for a Chassis/Crossmember Mounted Torque Arm, such as the piece from Spohn which is currently on my 99 Firebird? A thread on ls1tech explains the necessity to use a BMR Crossmember with this system. I'm wondering if mine would be sufficient. Thanks KOOKS.

  • i know its worthit.

but there just soooo damn expensive.

i would almost hope that you could get a header/exhaust package for that price. sux that i have a new stock 31k 2002 T.A. WS6 just like that and, I cant afford to put the exhaust I want on my car because Kooks would rather keep individualizing themselves from other companies with their prices. We ALREADY KNOW that they are much better, and if they were to charge less for there products...they would increase sales, and dominate the market.

  • @kief4diamonds When you think that this exhaust has about 30 feet of 3" Aircraft Grade 304 Stainless Steel, Two Mufflers, 4-Tips an X-Pipe, plus the option of catalysts, it carries a very high material cost. We would love to bring the price down, it just is not possible unfortunately. However the Y-Pipe will not have to be purchased anymore, so you really would just be paying around $1100-1200 for a Stainless Steel cat-back exhaust, that happens to be part of a dual set-up.Thats not that bad.

  • @Kookstv For $1100 dollars I would buy this exhaust system in a heartbeat. It's not that i dont have the $ , i see alot of other systems using "304 steel" which may or not be aircraft quality. People are not worried about the steel, but rather the sound, fitment, and more importantly price and horsepower gains. I have advertised your products for years by putting them on my vehicles. Id like an explanation of what makes your 304 steel better than the rest. maybe offer a lesser grade steel?

  • @kief4diamonds This system will be getting dynoed here in the next few weeks, we are hoping to see gains of 8-10 horsepower over the Y-Pipe single exhaust system. And this system fits the car perfectly, gives more ground clearence then most other exhauts systems and is capable of handling more horsepower then any other exhaust system. Not to mention the Four- 4" Polished Rolled Edge Tips look really sharp out of the rear of the car. And thank you for being a customer we appreciate it!

  • @kief4diamonds We use a 304 stainless steel, were not saying its better then anyone elses 304 grade as the material is the material. Its just that the steel itself is a commodity and is very expensive to purchase. Also we strive on making the best quality products so using an inferior metal would not be something we would offer.

    Thanks!

  • @Kookstv So.. basically you don't want to sell these :/.. i mean its not like they are making F-body cars still. there is a very limited number of people who even still have f body cars...i see them wrecked everyday at the recycling plant.....itll be hard to sell with magnaflow, borla and all the others offering 3 inch exhaust systems anywhere from $500-$1100 using the same materials. and some are in fact true dual as well. yours just sounds better. but i cant see the extra dough for just sound.

  • The exhaust sounds just as good as it looks! It leaves with me with just 2 questions:

When using the suspension pieces as specified, how much lower does the exhaust hang compared to the stock exhaust

Since the 3rd & 4th gen F-Bodies share a lot in the way of the chassis and suspension, are you looking at doing one for 3rd gen F-bodies?

I was getting ready to order a Mufflex single 4" system, but I would rather support a local company with nationally recognized designers and fabricators.

  • Drool.........

Will you be offering this system with just dual tips? I'm not a big fan of quad tips.

  • @ZRider3591 Yes we will offer it with just two tips.

  • You guys just did something wayyy too genius to explain in words. There are not too many true 3' systems for the 4th gen fbody, not to mention the fab work looks amazing and the system sounds just as good as it looks!! If I ever get myself a 4th gen fbody I know what system to purchase! Awesome job!

  • @zerooneonefive Thank You.
