  • know this doesnt matter much at all but its actually around 11.8-12.0 for 100m that he strided out. i think some of you are timing to the numbers which is why you are getting 10.9 or whatever. the finish/start line is further back. look where the exchange zone is, the numbers are a few meters past the zone

  • @gwi84 yeah, i think people are timing it after he crosses the exchange zone.

  • yo fiestyhamster can i get the work outs u have been telling ur friend bout 4 years that got him runin faster please

  • stupid Americans

  • Comment removed

  • does it really matter whether he jogged a 10.9 or if the straights are 80m? he can run a 9.72 and thats that

  • it looks like hes joggin, but thats only because were used to seein top sprinter run so fast. if u ran by him when he was goin this speed, he would look so quick. videos can be deceiving

  • I ran at that track in high school. It's in Miami.

  • @tpeliska It looks like Belen

  • it's more like 12-13 seconds. still nice for looking so effortless

  • @DeGO6 Nah dude It's in 10.9 or there about I just timed it with a stopwatch and got 11.3 for it but you have to take away 0.5s for reaction time so it's about 108-10.9

  • @moorey94

Reaction time is part of a 100m sprint, jackass.

  • @DeGO6 Well in that case I'm still closer than your estimate of 12-13 seconds so you're the umm what did you say... Jackass?

  • @moorey94 u dont take away reaction time, this isnt football

  • @jaqua524 What has reaction time got to do with football?

  • @moorey94 In football they measure ur time from the moment you lift you hand off the ground not the sound of the gun. some even go off ur first step.

  • @UnderOrdinary That's not football... FOOTBALL is what you call soccer. Football is played with your feet and it was invented way before the american version.

  • @moorey94 Way to be a smartass. obviously the dude was talking about football and not soccer. So use ur damn context clues and connect the fukkin dots. Its evident you know what the hell is in question because you put "American football" on ur previous comment. so please no one likes a smartass. He (I believe) is referring to 40yd dash times. Which again they measure from the time you lift ur hand not the sound of a gun.

  • THAT was a 10.9?!?!

  • where was this done ?

  • wow this is no more than 12 seconds, i barely sprint faster than that

  • @physicalgrafiti12345 its under 11 seconds

  • HIS jog is MY sprint... wtf

  • @Raptusxx technique

  • Amazing jog.. I timed his first 10m at about 2.00-2.05s (in trainers and jogging!), he normally runs 1.80-1.90s, and his 100m at about 12seconds, but he started slowing down at the yellow arrows (90m) - just like in races haha

  • ahh his jog is my sprint.

  • J'ai calculé 9.96! C'est pas un 100M ? lol

  • @ColdShotMania the straights are never 100

  • @fightjunge24 what??? How are the straights never 100?

  • @Gin2312002 theydont start at the end of the turn or??? the straights are 90 or so and bends 110

  • @MrBusunglueck That straight is where the 100m is, dont forget the 110 hurdles. 100 is always straight

  • @Gin2312002 omfg u ever watched a 100m race? they star of the bend. yes the run straight but if u run a 400m running from lane 1 u will run 220 bends and 180 meters straight. because the straights are shorter. just look any 100m race please. the point is: if u run a 100m from lane one there wont be gras on ur left side!!! understand?

  • @MrBusunglueck Already had the understanding. Its all good.

  • lol i bet with in training when there is no pressure on asafa he runs like 9.6

  • Did he just jog 100 meters in 10.5?

  • lol please look where the 100 exactly ends its like 11.4 or so

  • he jogs faster than most run!

  • he probly couldve won a high school meet with that

  • the difference between a 10.9 and a 10.4 is enormus. the idea of jumping times like that is insane to do all at once

  • My training partner ran 3 back to back 10.9s this last season and ended up running 10.48 at the end of the season

  • great he must have figured out what worked for him

  • Yea he started to follow the workouts i had been telling him about for years.

  • when Asafa Powell ran one of his first official race when he was 18 he ran 10.85(improved his time to 10.50 at the same year, (2000)) . So keep on and don't give up!

  • thanks man :D

  • i think im about that, just im 15 and may be a couple 10ths faster

  • @chris6878 can you please message me some of the workouts that helped your friend and you? i'm a 17 year old sprinter and want to improve my times. thanx in advance

  • @chris6878

Can U Please Message those tips to me also, thanks

  • @fiestyhamster unless you just start training, learning good from and getting a good block start, but when you actually get good at that, then yeah it is hard to get stronger and drop half a second

  • @fiestyhamster DATS 10.4 RIGHT THERE RIGHT....CHILLIN N RUNNIN DAT FAST LOL AMAZING

  • i have got to learn how to drag my back leg out of the blocks but still have a knee drive. he makes it look so easy.

  • Dont try to do it on purpose you will mess up your start. But all you have to do Is get full extension out of the blocks. It is hard to explain without a picture.

  • i don`t do it in practice or in a race or anything but i get to watchin asafa powell running and i get in a starting position and try it, but yeah its harder than what asafa makes it look. but yeah i know not to do it on purpose.

  • Its really not that hard. I can do it on command but I havent tried it in a race, plus it fucks up my spikes

  • damn, that was a quick 100. lol

  • hm thats weird...

10.90 for 100m jog? anyone else think thats a bit too fast? if it was a full sprint he would average around 9.8ish (his best is 9.72) so wouldn't 10.90 be very unlikely for a jog?

  • @thomasIsC0oL not too fast at all. check his commonswealth games back in 06. jogged a 10 flat i believe. asafa is a straight beast. bolt jogs 19.60s in his 200m with everybody 5m- 10m still behind.

  • @thomasIsC0oL he probably did...coz he went pretty fast even if the description said that it was just a jog.

  • @thomasIsC0oL Bolt literally jogged a 9.85 in the semi finals of Beijing

  • @thomasIsC0oL He always ( mostly ) run under the 10sec barrier. He's the only guy to do that for more than 90 times.

  • weird...what's with the low head at the beginning? u supposed to do that?

  • Don't all sprinters do that?At least I was taught to do that..

  • Well, most sprinters do that but, as far as I've seen, only Ben Johnson and Michael Johnson don't.

  • youre supposed to keep your body low, i think a low head helps too in the drive phase

  • its not 100m he did 30 something steps so its more like 80-90m

  • Is more than 100m, he goes against the normal direction, but he start on the finish line, and pass trought the 100m start!

  • 100m in 10.90?

  • he started from the finish, so stopped sooner

  • duno mate but summins wrong he hits the finish in under 10 secs, unless the cameras speed has been altered. hes jogging lol

  • no i think the other line is a little farther back we just cant see cus its really far away

  • anyone know how set Asafa Powell the blocks of start? how many distance between both blocks? dis is incredible the way he start

  • seems to be very close to the line

  • oh incredible!!! i've taken pretty much around 10'90 in these 100M,and he looks like dat he is walking by dat ease pace even without cleats shoes even though he get down to 11 seconds. raas claath
