This is a Polish movie directed by Jerzy Hoffman in 2003. The vikings you can see were Saxons (at least the movie says so) and they were called by a duke named Popiel to slaughter the rebels who raised against his ruthless reign.
The video you uploaded treats also a bit about Polish origins - the rebels were actually the ancestors of Polish people :) Hope my answer is exhausting... ;)

According to a UCL study (5th best university in the world) - there is a vast difference between the DNA of English and of Welsh. They compared the y-chromosome and found the English and Frisians were almost identical. This would show that the English are, well, quite germanic... not German.

Some norwegian historians try to say that the Norsemen were norwegians. But I think it is a try to falsify history. Norsemen probably mean 'northerner'. Most of the time it means danish and norwegian vikings and in some cases swedish at the westward frontier. French monks used to pray, "please deliver us from norsemen". This has to mean danes too. The danish vikingfleets were often mixed, one of the most famous shieftains was swedish Torkel Höge, meaning "high" or tall..

@RebelSword Romans died off long ago, actually. They are now virtually non-existent. Not even in Italy, Gothic tribes took over that area. DNA tests shows that There are little to no Celtic genes in English blood. Also, the Saxons were a different sort of Germanic; they were south Germanic, but had moved up to take Denmark. Norsemen were North Germanic. And also, about the video, Harald Hardrada's Norse invasion of the British Isles was not the last. Normans were also from Norway initially.
@Bloodmoon17 Normans were descended from Norway but culturally they were French some contemporary sources even call them French, and so they are not considered part of the Viking age. According to a UCL study (5th best university in the world) - there is a vast difference between the DNA of English and of Welsh. They compared the y-chromosome and found the English and Frisians were almost identical. This would show that the English are, well, quite germanic... not German.

@sebastiansap2003 Wrong! England the country started when Germanic tribes of Denmark and northern Germany came(The Anglo-Saxons). They subdued the indigenous Celtic, many were exterminated but most integrated within Saxons. So the English are not like the other Celts(Scots/Welsh/Irish), they vary between Germanic to Celtic! The 70% DNA has also been disproven recently, because Frisians and their Saxon cousins also have high R1b proportions in comparison to other Germanics!

@sebastiansap2003 Think again, firstly there are very few Celtic place-names in England. The Old Welsh,Irish,Scottish people always referred to the English as "Saxons" in their own Celtic tongue. In 2003 Capelle also proved identically DNA similarity between Frisians and central English people. So the Celtic was diluted to some extent in England.

The English are largely Germanic(Saxons,Jutes,Angles,Frisians) with some Celtic mix( Brythons,Belgae).Additional mixtures from North-Germanic(Norse&Danish mostly) and Normans( Norse mix with Gallo-Roman&Belgae again). You're wrong, Germans are predominantly Germanic with some Slavic mix(Wends,etc...)

Some norwegian historians try to say that the Norsemen were norwegians. But I think it is a try to falsify history. Norsemen probably mean 'northerner'. Most of the time it means danish and norwegian vikings and in some cases swedish at the westward frontier. French monks used to pray, "please deliver us from norsemen". This has to mean danes too. The danish vikingfleets were often mixed, one of the most famous shieftains was swedish Torkel Höge, meaning "high" or tall..

It was just a case of coming across this footage finding it handily fit a narrative we we wanted to tell, and then using it. Oden is a well known example for instance.. And yes, Berserkers did take drugs, but not as often as people may think.. @RebelSword Romans died off long ago, actually. They are now virtually non-existent. Not even in Italy, Gothic tribes took over that area. DNA tests shows that There are little to no Celtic genes in English blood. Also, the Saxons were a different sort of Germanic; they were south Germanic, but had moved up to take Denmark. Norsemen were North Germanic. And also, about the video, Harald Hardrada's Norse invasion of the British Isles was not the last. Normans were also from Norway initially.

@Bloodmoon17 Normans were descended from Norway but culturally they were French some contemporary sources even call them French, and so they are not considered part of the Viking age. It is like Australia invading a country today and people saying it is the British doing it. Denmark did invade after 1066 but only upon the invitation of English rebels so it was not of the same nature as prior Viking incursions.

I get confused by it all. So you had the gaels in Ireland a long time BC who spread through France, east into europe, to germany and are normally the bearded white people fighting romans in most films?
