just so everyone knows, if the snow isnt too deep and not frozen of course you get more grip in it that on the ice. the technique for driving in these conditions is drive as smooth as possible. slow down and speed up in straight lines. when trying to drive up hills or starting off try to move as if you are trying to park in a really tight parking spot by slipping the clutch and a very small amount of acceleration.

no salt in donegal as usual, the big shipment landed in dublin. Northern Ireland have tons of salt that they offered us to buy yet the county wasnt allowed to buy it off them, forgotten county as usual fukkin joke- we had the same crak last year with ice and snow and they said this salt shortage would never happen again...- the country is a fukkin disgrace, what is the point staying here really? work our asses off for degrees yet cant get a job here.... shithole of a country these days...

@yaHARmeMATEY Yep, coming from Jersey where we get a good few feet of snow every winter and the roads are perfect. my parents get annoyed when they drive behind some people because they are driving too slow on decent roads and also brake (if you drive faster it warms the roads) Now its not their fault really, the problem is that there is very little information provided to teach them how to drive in these conditions. Also they need a plough to clear the streets then salt and sand it.

Its obvious that even the people in fwd cars in this video don't have a clue ( look at the toyota avensis ). So if you apply those skills to a rwd car, you end up going nowhere. People take no interest in driving, so I guess low grip driving should be examined as part of the driving test.

@jizique in fairness rear wheel drives are waaay worse on snow. Its only possible to drive them when you have something heavy in your boot. Some people put sand bags to make the rear of the car heavier.

I drive a manual 3 series and I have had no problem driving in the snow because I know how to drive in these conditions!

ppl with automatics are struggling but that is why lots of bmw's and mercs have snow and ice modes for the DSP etc.
