I think the TAP is the best thing ever. Those of you who don't know anything about it need to visit ENDOSPINK. Its completely harmless and way better than old "cowboy" methods. Excellent for the horse!
This is all just way to forceful. I train horses for a living so I'm not a "sky diver' throwing opinions on you....I'm a professional. No I cant get my horses to lie down but my horses give me full respect. why? Because I never cram...jam...whip...pull.
Um u know what. . . . . u . . . are . . . a . . .FUCKING IDIOT!! I swear you think you know what ur talken bout but you dont im 14 and know soooo much more than ur pathetc ass. . . . . Pat Parelli is way better than this shit and thats why he has WAY more people doing his stuff! HAHAHA u suck :)
As soon as the" tap" is used to bring a horse down that does not require it ,then it is abuse .El niño con el burro y la fusta ,esa es abuso de la noblesa del burro.El momento que usamos el animal por nuestro "ego" ,esa es abuso.Less show ,mas corazon !
everybody has different ways of training... some can be quite cruel..I watched "C. Cameron", a reknowned "natural" trainer, THROW a horse down...I can see how this TAP method would potentially SAVE a "bad" horse......it BUILDS trust to lay them down and not harm them, and teaches respect at the same time...not a method I have tried, but someday should I need it.....I will!
@teranganui ... who's a twit, mr. dancing queen?? I'm not the one posting videos of myself dancing around alone in my camouflage pants ... really intelligent... ...twit!!
its clear that most people have no idea wat cruelty is, iv seen some of the top trainers breakin horses in some of the most disgusting ways and believe me some times the animal didnt come out the other end. if this was the common approach to breakin alot fantastic animals might still be here today,
Look, this is the first time he went down. It's been a long time and now the problem has become that he loves to do it. Sometimes we stop in the middle of a piaffe to tal me and another trainer and suddenly without asking him for it, "down h goes".
I you are willing to bet something that is worth my trouble I will tape it for you. If he does it gladly by himself I guess you could swallow your words about animal behavior and cruelty. So, you want to see it? How much is the bet?
SoberDevotion, I looked at your videos and you certainly don't seem to have nor ride horses, so I will explain.
Lying horses down calms horses. Lying down puts them at their greatest exposure to risk (belly to side legs unusable) . If man does nothing to them when they are most exposed they sort of get the idea that nothing is going to happen to them. If you ever ride horses you could try it, but it takes a little bit of skill and courage. Cheers!
All looks good to me too. TAP is a brilliant method - you only have to view Endo's videos - fantastic. Nothing cruel about it - you have done very well!
There's a LOT of reasons this Endorphn TAP is used. I just tried it for the 1st time today, only a HALF tap...and my horse was yawning and heavy lidded, putty in my hands. The TAP releases endorphins and literally makes the horse mellow from the endorphin(aka "morphine within")release. During those moments you can establish a WAY deeper bond of trust & upper hand with your horse, make behavior issues easy to manage, and make training easier with a super compliant horse after performing the TAP
Look, the thing the kid uses is one of those that have a big flat leather at the end made to make noise and not hurt. Me? I now just tell my horse with my voice to lie down and he does. If you'd like to bet something I'll produce the video just for you. BTW, what can you do with your horses? I'd love to see. Oh, I'm sorry, you ride your bike with your garbage bin; I forgot.
I think the tapping of the crop is the lay down cue this donkey has been taught. Tapping with a crop or dressage whip is a very common form of natural horsemanship--a horse will move away from the gentlest of taps because eventually the repetative tapping bothers them to move away from that "pressure". EX: Say a horse won't pick up his foot for you to pick his hoof. All you have to do is use that hoof pick to tap on the back of his pastern or the bulb of his heel and he will give you that foot.
that was not repeated tapping it was smacking it and i don't like to see an impacient boy think its ok ... less is more ..I point at my horse 's hoof and it lifts it up and i never had to smack it or use a whip in the education process ......use brain not brawn..
But you can still ride, right? You have something to show for your "different talent" with horses, right? By all means share it !
I do't mean to be rude but, how do we know that you are not just a skydiver (which BTW I am) just throwing uninformed opinions about horses. I sure sounds a little like that.

This is not training, this is cruelty... The horse is not laying down because he trusts you, but because his muscles are to strained.

So you think this is "horsemanship"????
It´s not a dog its a horse!
Horses don´t show submission by lying down!!
This also is animal cruelty because you force them to do this!
STOP doing this and learn some about animal behaviour!

I don't really see the point of this, is it training? Or a trick you taught your horses?

Still unconvinced sorry Endo

@chelackie Yeah, the smacking was a bit neandrothalic but everything else ok.
