  • I am glad you take your children with you. Great shots!

  • @robertwterry Haha no, I don't have any children, which is probably a good thing cuz I'm 16 years old, I'm the railfan in the family (and my little brother got his interest from me), but thanks! :)

  • ummmm ok the fright just randomly changes?

  • @5star76 IDK what you mean by that? :/

  • never mind my comment about the coal train I see he is on the old Wabash line

  • are you sure that coal train is on NS and not the old CE&I if it is than thats UPs territory I have rerouted quite a few times at Lenox tower onto the CE&I to run into Chicago on the Texas Eagle

  • UP has discovered the amazing advantage of DPUs. THEY'RE USING THEM ON STACK AND Z-TRAINS FOR PETE FREIKIN' SAKE!

  • @TrainTrackTrav I know that, but this train happens to be running over the NS line, and UP doesnt have trackage rights on this line. it is an NS train. thats why I was surprised. :)

  • how did u get so close to the tower with out getting in trouble? please post your answer on my channel

  • how did u get so close to Lenox Tower. I got in trouble the last time i went and got close to it

  • NS and UP have a contract to run coal from Kabalanine WY to Coffeen IL. The UP takes it acrossed the Jeff City Sub to Saint Louis where the NS takes it to Coffeen then back to Saint Louis thent he UP take it west to Kabalanine. All about contracts. NS 70E(D607) was the ID of that train and I know those guys real well. He runs just about every day on the Brooklyn District. Nice catch of 95 by the way. 70E runs 118 cars, 6,654ft., 3,000tons empty, 17,000tons loaded.

  • That's what I figured. I am thinking that UP doesn't even transfer power with NS when they turn onto the NS line (and I would even guess that maybe they keep the same crew as well), so that explains the all-UP power with the DPU. I see tons of UP power on this line, but never a DPU.

  • @JimboRailfan I have photographed all over the US and Canada I have seen NS poer down here in Texas on trains runing through both on UP tains as well as BNSF an definatlly on KCS as well as we have a roadrailer facility in Saginaw Texas and its not uncommon to see all NS power on that as likewise I have been back east photographing and seen UP power run trough on the NS and CSX I have passed trains on the CSX line to Buffallo with all UP power and seen BNSF as well on the same line

  • the coal trains that go on that line is not rare its an everyday thing on that line. NS 70E was the i.d. of it.
