Ive been listening to this since i was a child, love it so much. The true fact is life isn't about money, life is a collection of moments and in the end its who you spent those moments and memories with that truly make a life worth living.
love this song...looked for it for years cause i thought it was sung by a guy named Mitch Malloy. Apparently he was discovered by Jon Bon Jovi and Jon Bon Jovi does a great cover of it too
Billy, I saw you at an old hole in the wall in Nashville across the Cumberland River downtown in 1991 & fell in love with you and your music and lyrics! I have been looking for your stuff & put it on my Ipod! You are an amazing artist! You should come to the songwriters Guild, the 2nd or third year on the Gulf Coast in Santa Rosa Beach...please feel free to contact me for details! God Bless you!
This is a great song. The second verse was written about my parents. Billy was an old friend of my uncle. My parents will be celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary this coming July. If anyone is in contact with Billy, please let him know that Lou and Grace say Hi.
how come every vid i play now has this ghetto ,wig wearing, crackhead staring at me in the left hand corner?!?!?!? will someone please get that black mug outta my face
this song is so true . went from being happy and broke with a wife and two kids to being financially stable and lost it all would rather be poor and have love then rich and unloved.
I love this song cause it makes a lot of sence and explains a little about life. Without love or care none of us will ever make it through life or anything. I also really hated when the guy at the end commited suicide as he started to fall flat in the water, thats because he didn't have the power of love.
Fact: that's my old 1969 Dodge Dart 340 Swinger in this video. I bought the car from a woman in Harbor City, CA and it was in 99% original condition (matching numbers), but rough and a little rusty. I owned it for about a year before putting it up for sale. The video producers saw the ad and called me, asking if they could rent the car for a day for a video shoot for this guy named Billy Falcon and I said "sure!".
When you've lived the story of this song, it really hits home. Money vs. True Love... No contest. I've been listening to this song since it first came out around 1991. I think I'll call my local radio station and start requesting this one (again). Billy, where ever you are these days...I wish you the best and may God bless you.
I met Billy before through his family and the church.
I remember hauling his equipment to a gig in my VW many years ago. I was really happy for him when he finilly got reconized for his talents. No one deserves it more
This is the first time I hear this song since it was out in what I believed was 1990 and have always remembered this song and recently began singing the chorus. My girlfriend said she doesn't remember it and I want her to listen to it. I recall Billy being a protege of Jon Bon Jovi and listening to Jon introduce Billy and his song on Z100 in NYC. Love it.
i love this song.. this proves that a man with everything doesnt have anything, but a man with nothing, has everything. and without the poer of love, there is nothing in life. so keep the ones you love as close as possible for as long as possible..

If this was any more Canadian, it'd be drunkenly slurred. This is hardly a "Life is a Highway", but it tries to be.

We spent the day on-location. :-)
I sold the car a couple weeks later.
Good times.
