  • How do you get bits of tv shows and other songs in there

  • @KaausHound Through the magic of sampling!

  • @spyro303 ._____. i know that, but mine ends up all staticy and muffled when I import the sample

  • @KaausHound It all depends on whether you're recording from a video file or from a cable running to your TV, your sound card, your software, your operating system, drivers, configuration, and even whether your sound card is too close to other cards in your PC. You'll have to troubleshoot this step by step.

  • nostalgic 90's

  • Nice and oldschool! Ever get this signed?

  • @AcoustiksDrumnBass Not this one, but I got another song published on a compilation album after placing near the top of a competition. Since then I've decided never to collect money for my music. I only want to self-publish for free in open source formats.

  • Hypnotic Melody, eh? Cool to see that you're still around! Some of the first modules I downloaded were "A Haunting Melody" (named BRIAN.S3M for whatever reason :)), "Dance of the Magi" and the Kouncil Kombat tunes. :)

  • Oh, and that also implies of course that I ripped quite a few samples from your tracks! :>

  • @moejoe1337 Thanks for making my day! :)

  • what is the name of this software?

  • @d1g1man modplug tracker

  • coo

  • jejejeje mice Im from spain ViVA Espana

  • amazing!

  • there is stereo

  • oh my gosh that is so cool! whats the name of the song u got the words "this is a journey...into sound" from?

  • Thanks for the compliment! :) I'm pretty sure that sample is many decades old.. I have no idea what the original source is but it's been used on many, many songs.

  • @koolkat33746 Now that I think about it, I think this sample is from the TV show The Twilight Zone

  • Einfach super Genial.

    Weiter so

  • Its kinda basic but it shows how you can make your own beats with real single instruments., although I rather see the chords to be seperate in 3 channels in single tone ^^.

  • In a way it does feel kind of shameful to use a sampled chord rather than playing them in 3 channels, but sometimes you just have the perfect chord sampled with the perfect instruments that you can't recreate. This is a staple of techno music. In some of my other songs I play my own chords (with single piano notes, for example)

  • You got a point. It does clean up unnecessary channel space.

  • which program

  • you cant see the top of the window that says 'Modlplug Tracker'

    just wondering

  • Nice, kind of reminds me of Jack's stage from Art of Fighting, on SuperNes. Golden Times

  • this is freaking awesome im gonna try this when i have time

  • lol technophrenia... my mom has SCHIZOphrenia... :(

  • "Get Down (source unknow)"

Stolen from the Reason Factory Soundbank

  • Thanks for the tip! It was stolen third- or fourth-hand since I just borrowed it from someone else's song, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those samples that is very recognizable and shows up everywhere.

  • @AussieAndrew1990 Yeah right, I'm pretty sure he stole that sample from Reason in 1994 when PC sequencers and softsynths were soooo popular (not)!

  • i love this song, by theway where did u get the black glossy skin?

  • It's called Royale Noir, and it's for WinXP only. Google it.

  • if you go to look it up, it also goes under Open MPT, just to alleviate confusion.

  • I like it. Please make more Videos like that. :)

  • Wow, that's well done! I can see that you've really spent a long time arranging the music.

So again, great job! =D 5/5!

  • i luv you thanks ive been trying to wright my own songs and they suck thanks for showing me this and letting me borrow your content

  • I cant get sounds to atcually go into the columns, im so confused, i know how to get the sounds and sample them, but i cant get them in the freakin column, help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • You need to find some samples and load them into ModPlug. Then you can lay out the samples in patterns to create music.

  • I downloaded the program but I have no clue how to use it. Where do you get the sounds from?

  • yeah?

  • Awsome! :]

  • So how do you get to this program?

  • Good nice work :)

  • You have used some Technotronic rhythmic samples, haven't you? Yes, I admit I also used these samples in ModEdit many years ago. :)

    Kewl track, congratulations!

  • ok i love this song so much and im a big deee-lite fan and i herd alot of it in there!

  • You win my super mega bonus prize for recognizing the Deee-Lite influences! World Clique is one of my favourite albums of all time and influenced my house and techno styles greatly.

  • lolz ty so much lolz have you herd of there drops in the garden its realy cool 2!

  • Yep, Dewdrops in the Garden is a great, chillin tune!

  • lolz i wonder what there next album is going to be if its deee-lite they wont disapoint! lol

  • Actually you will be disappointed - they broke up many years ago. Miss Lady Kier still does some vocal work and she still has an incredible voice but it's not quite the same.

Search for Deee Lite on YouTube to find lots of absolutely amazing performance videos. Kier is outstanding live.

  • hedidits inm the description

  • you should totally make this available for download

  • it is... at the end of the video there are 3 links... the top 1 is for just the song... the next is for if you want the mod format of the song meaning you can take samples and patterns and such things... :D

  • What program did you use?

  • ModPlug Tracker as said ;)

  • learn to read the: About this video part, right of where u watch the vid:) (reply to: TheRandomChocolate)

  • I'm playing the song in ModPlug Tracker in this video, but I originally wrote the song using a program called ScreamTracker 3 for DOS. That was in 1994.

  • Sorry:( Never heard the program but thnks for telling me^^

  • Muito bom!!! Parabéns!!!

  • Obrigado!

  • ThePrion, thanks :)

    Yeah, graet music!

  • That is amazing!

  • Wow! When those piano chords came in all I could think about was Detroit.

    Love the retro.

  • What really surprised me was that I wrote this music before I ever really heard techno. I just put the sounds together in a way that made sense to me, and was easy to do with my limited skill set (this was my second song ever). Naturally, when I later heard Detroit techno I fell in love on the spot and have loved it ever since.

  • wowo great job! i ciant wai ttill i figure this program out!

  • Ah so thats how ppl make Windows music wit hthe windows sound effects im goign to try that! thast soo kewl! Great job!

  • hypnotic ??? its shaking me awake

  • gah... that tune... is gonna get annoying..

and is that a goat in the background..?

XD anyways, I was kinda kidding,

I can't make music for my life..

  • omg i love this song now

  • yes he used modplug

  • Ya! tecno music is the best!

  • Program?

  • Can you not read??

  • hmm, sound like something from Armored core nexus

  • You got some smooth skills there, man.

  • whoever calls these kind of people nerds is wrong. this guys a great artist

  • Can't I be both??

  • There Can be only ONE!

  • ...highlander...

    ha ha ha

  • how do i use modplug i put something down and i dont get a sound how??????????

  • You need to provide your own samples. Typing notes in a pattern tells ModPlug how to play those samples.

Download my songs in MOD and similar formats from the link in the description and load them in ModPlug to see how I did it.

  • Awesome!

  • this is incredible!

    Well done!

  • get it copyrighted cause its awesome, 5 stars.

  • I have no intention to copyright my music. It's for anyone to enjoy, copy, or remix for free.

  • good idea!

  • Upload this music, becouse it's really nice track :-)

  • youcan u plzz post more music of a range of types plzzz love the song though

  • what website is this software on???

    i love makin music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • is modplug a free program?

  • Yes it is!

  • I need help with modplug :(

Can you teach me some tricks with it?

  • I actually wrote this song using a program for DOS called Screamtracker 3. That was about 14 years ago so I'm a little rusty!

The best advice I can give is to go to my website (click more in the description), download some of my songs, and open them in ModPlug Tracker. You can see exactly how I wrote each song, steal the instruments, change it, or write your own.

    Good luck!

  • how long did it take u to come up wit hthis

  • I think I remember working on it for 2 or 3 days. Probably about 10 or 15 hours total. My later songs took closer to 25 hours.

  • Shake Shake oh shake :D. Thx for the melody, it's great!

  • OHhhhh its the beloved 90's again! MP3 version please!!

  • Click "More" in the About This Video section for MP3 versions. :)

  • Great job, it sounds like the old Eurodance songs:) Will you put a link to download this song?

  • I've added links to the original and MP3 formats of all my music in the description. Click "more" in the About This Video section.

  • ha, it sounds so 90's but it's good

  • That's the way I roll!

  • That's a nice thing. Btw, see related. I also use tracking, but for more stuff than just Music. Btw, also a member of The Mod Archive. I also pop into the chat from time to time.

And having thoughts of making the ultimate tracker.

  • that was awesome. im also new to tracking. thanks for posting!

  • Please post a link to your music when you've got something finished! Have fun!

  • I recommend you start tracking the way I did - download some music from MOD artists you like, open the songs in your tracking software, and see how it's made. Technophrenia was my second song and I started implementing some effects, stereo, and sound balancing using tips I learned from other trackers.

The reason I posted this video was to illustrate how music that sounds complex can be put together rather easily. Good luck!

  • That sounds pretty good. I am new to tracking.
