  • more like girl cock

  • That's what my father said about nearly all the groups I was into growing up. Welcome to his club, maybe you guys can compare notes of what's good and what's not in music at the next AARP meeting.

  • wat

  • she is so hot!!! wow!! p

  • Dont talk shit if you've never actually seen him live, its incredible, i went to Ashville October 07, and im going to Ashville October 08. i'll go every oppertuneity.

  • What fucking joy; this is what Bach and mozart were about. I don't think they would have mind to be 'raped' like this.

  • it's absolutely incredible what girl talk does. he takes music and makes completely different songs from them, its creative art. don't be all high and snobby without listening to what he does and appreciating the artistic talent it takes. "this is what Bach and Mozart were all about," you snobby shit anyone who appreciates ingenuity and creativity would support acts like girl talk

  • this is fucking sick. i've been doing mashups for years, and i mainly did it as a hobby, and to entertain an old friend of mine (i live in a relatively small town). watching this is quite an inspiration. good job! thank you for posting it.

  • this is one of the best live sets he did just cause he took it outside. they really hooked him up for this show. he should do that more often. check out the Girl Talk LIVE tshirt I designed and my PLAY YOUR PART 1 Girl Talk tee too. Its in a video at my profile. Peace!

  • for mojo6a6go6go -for this to be an "evolution of music" at some point it would require a musician. It's a cute little puzzle but in the end just more proof of the systematic raping of our collective culture. If ya cant do it, steal it, right?

  • Try a celbration of the music included. Go to a show and see how much the fans enjoy it. Music is based off influence of other artists, most bite other artists and try to pass it off as their own, at least Gregg doesn't try to hide it. Let's see you try to make somthing people can appreciate, rather than uppity canned comments about "the systematic rape of our collective culture". Come off your high horse and enjoy something for once.

  • true dat

  • raping? thats a tad harsh

he's completely changing and reworking the sources into something original

  • SOMEBODY's never heard of Dadaism.

  • eloquent.

  • he is a musician. you try to do what he does with beats and songs, making them mix to form something completely new. its not easy, especially since he makes his mash ups so damn catchy and awesome. you're just close minded

  • I was lazy and didn't get a ticket for this in advance. It was sold out when I got there. I will regret that for the rest of my life. But at least I got to see Amon Tobin at the metropolis a few days later. that pretty much made up for it.

oh and the jazz fest is THE SHIZNAT. everyone should experience it at least once

  • rock on with the pirates hat

  • haha what a party

  • who cares if he is a 'musician' or not... it's fucking fun as hell live. isn't that all that matters? has anyone criticized him ever had fun in their life?

  • okay so the dispute between genres seems more like a dispute between the talent of the actual music... i will settle this right now, whether you call it jazz, bastard pop, bootleg, or mashup. its fucking talent. if you want to try and sync acapellas with techno and have it sound any better, be my guest. so far, nothing beats girl talk. now whether your into this style of music is ultimately up to you, but to not recognize as talent is just being naive

  • OMG SHAT UP U BELLEND

  • no kidding what a pile of crap.

  • rbx you have to realise its a growing genre, and every electronic genre comes from somewhere. techno didnt just sprout from anywhere. it evolved. this music is not how your viewing it. listen to other mashup artists, and you'll relise that girl talk is easily the best of the bunch.

  • you all just needs to shut the fuck up like silent bob.

enjoy the music, girltalk is the shit.

  • you all just needs to shut the fuck up like silent bob.

enjoy the music, girltalk is the shit.

  • and jigger77, if you dislike the jazz fest so much because it doesn't adhere to your staunchly narrowed views of what the genre should be, just stay home - we dont mind. But, if you cant seem agree with the evolution of music, dont judge valid (and talented) artists based on your own ignorant perspective. thanks ;)

  • - best show of the year!! its in my top 10 for sure. amazing.

  • remix culture eh? Well, good luck with that friend.

  • that's remix culture in action! thanks man! wikispellcheck!

    or is it thats?

  • It's "there somewhere", not "their".

  • Jazz is all based on call and response. Saxaphone responds to drums. Harmonica to vocals. Gregg Gillis responds to Elton John with some Biggie Smalls.

  • i think I heard a blue note in their somewhere... and I'm pretty sure Gregg said "do-bop" at some point...

  • yawn......snore. This is why the Jazz Fest is garbage. This total crap is about as far from Jazz as you can get.

Learn how to play an instrument.

  • Holy christ, Greg Gillis is a madman.

  • This guy makes music for cheerleading events.

  • There is another camera covering the action that you'll be able to see in the final film.

Check out opensourcecinemaDOTorg and help to remix the film - lots more GirlTalk footage there!
