@jdt35 Sharks don't like to eat humans. We taste bad to them. The majority of people who get attacked by sharks actually survive because the shark mistakes them for something else (like a seal,) bites them, then realises what they are, and spits them back out.
@EvilGreatWhite you should look into the behaviour of sharks a bit more, you'll be pleasantly surprised. They are greatly misunderstood and fascinating creatures to watch in their own environment, sadly the media portray them as man eaters that only hunt man - this is so far from the truth it's laughable.
@EvilGreatWhite As a general rule, sharks don't eat people. I personally have been in the water with 2.5m Tiger Shark and an Adult Lemon Shark, its hard to describe but you don't feel afraid when you're with them at eye level. The nervous bit is when you're looking down at their silhouettes in the water.
@jdt35 Maybe because sharks arent that bad..... all this negative bullshits about sharks are wildly misunderstood. Sharks are beautiful and not dumb as many would believe.
@jdt35 Sharks aren't just vicious maneaters. Most shark attacks are "first bites" where it will take a chunk out of something to see what it is. Most shark attacks on humans end after the first bite, because sharks need fatty animals like seals. As long as you respect the fact that you are in THEIR territory, and keep good distance, they'll leave you be.
@jdt35 you see he keeps placing the camera between himself and the shark. maybe the shark wasnt hungry. maybe the shark is finicky. maybe the shark wanted to be sure about what he was about to eat. dont try this at home or your question may be answered.
@executionerofgod it actually appears to be a "teenage" shark at only around 11 or 12 feet. it's probably used to eating squid and tuna and is just starting to hunt pinnipeds.
Thanks for posting the vid. Don't know that I would feel too comfortable swimming with the Great white. I had an encounter where one swam round me and while a I felt very anxious it was peaceful. But on another occasion in about the same location I watched from a boat as one launched an attack on a group of fur seals. The attack was very dynamic and humbling to witness.
This is a great white- it's body markings are very distinct. What an incredible opportunity.
Thanks for sharing! It's not every day you get to go out with the whales during whalesong!

Sharks don´t eat humans!!
They don´t know what we are but they know we are not a "normal" Fish or seal.
Like all successful Predators they know that it is not smart to try to eat something you don´t know.
Take a look at this Vid.
"Die Schöne und der Hai 1"
Another really good Vid about Sharks.
I have done about 60 Dives with many Sharks. Tigers, Hammerheads and Longimanus among them.
Sharks are no problem for Humans. Humans are a Problem for Sharks.
