Originally I didnt like the hatch body style, but I recently got to drive one and it was impressive. It is so incredibly easy to push hard and drive fast.

The Evo X GSR wasnt as good as I hoped the 9 was better, but I still want to drive that FQ400 (which Subaru needs to answer)

Having owned an Impreza for the last 10 years I was horrified when I first saw the new hatchback version. It's groing on me now & I'm thinking about getting one of the lower models. But it sounds like performance wise Subaru are way of the mark with the WRS & STi Imprezas. It's not what it used to be. Not by a long shot. The Lancer Evo is out there on it's own now. Subaru have conceeded defeat :-(

@hohohee1 I had my MY08 STI hatchback serviced two weeks ago. The new sedan and hatchback were sitting there next to the service desk so I had a poke around 'em while I waited. To be honest, and yes i'm probably biased, I still think the hatchback looks better than the current model sedan. Something about the back of the current sedan doesn't look right to me. The boot lid is so small, it might as well be a liftback.

But like I say, i own a STI hatchback, so i'm obviously biased. :-)

Seriously, Tiff - get some professional tuition with 4WD. You're always over-correcting the front end of 4WD sports cars.

You have to get the rear sliding first, then go hard on the throttle, keep the front wheels pointing into the apex, and steer with the throttle and your left foot on the brakes - without correcting it like a rear-wheel-drive car. Honestly, you'll be much faster and smoother that way.

Stock, the steering was a bit numb with a propensity of under steer, but I installed some Megan coil overs and a Perrin caster kit on my 08' , the difference is amazing. the car handles absolutely bat shit awesome!!!

watch other reviews on the car.and the hatchback is more popular in rally races 4 a reason...u only hate the car until u drive it . i owned 2 sti's. the 06 and the 06 limited edition...and wen this new 1 came out i was like wtf! a hatchback! until i got 2 test drive it..the car is definate ly a step up..u get the right amount if feedback. the boost works rather quickly reguardless of whut tiff says and is a demond around the corners...and the boxer engine is a superior engineering by itself
