Awe yes, the BEST characters in the show. The two anchors, one a stuck-up nerd, and the other way smarter, and just a direct type of anouncer. Wow, John Candy a bad-ass!! "Want a stick up you're nose?", epic!

Is it my imagination, or does Earl Camembert's delivery sound a tad similar at times to John Slattery (former WABC-TV "Eyewitness News" reporter, with WCBS-TV since the mid-'80's)?

Well, Levy is from Hamilton Ontario which is close to Buffalo NY.  I once saw on Wikipedia that Earl Camembert's character is based on "Irv" Weinstein. He hosted WKBW-TV's Eyewitness News in Buffalo, New York
