As many times as we've been to disneyland, we've never gotten the chance to visit the pirates lair. We'll be there for 3 days next month so I'm definitely not going to miss the chance to see it!! Looks way cool.

Yes! I went in February for my cheer competition. The day before we went to Disneyland, and we checked this out. It is very good in my opinion. You can even get Jack Sparrow's autograph, if you can find him anyways. =p

I was just there two days ago, I didn't happen to catch the show but I did run into the meet and greet Jack Sparrow you see for a short bit as he refuses to shake the girls hand, he did a brilliant Jack, voice and all. The guy in the show..wasn't too keen on his voice, but he was pretty good as well ^_^ I love that Disney is always making changes, though I will miss Tom Sawyers island!

there's a little raft that is run near where Splash Mountain is and it takes you across. One of the staff controls it and it can take about 20 people across at a time.

Yom Sawyer - was that his jewish half brother? (Just joking around.) There are some Tom elements but everything has been re-themed to pirates; if that makes sense. Example, the water wheel is still there but it is no longer an example of how to make grain, it is now Wil Turner's Blacksmith Shop. - - RU

No. The Priates Lair was the entire Tom Sawyer Island. They gutted most of it to place the pirates overlay onto it.
