@HAMrJHA yeah, i get a bit emotional when i listen to this, life without you, too. What gets to me is the person behind the music, he was a great man. Always there to help people. That genuine sincerity is rare.
Hi friends, we love this song. we try to do a version of this song at home. Not have the same production. You could watch it later on my channel? thanks
@Plimsoul97 Do you play ? Yes it is a basic blues progression, cheesy ? Well guess that depends on whether you like blues. As for the intro that is very difficult to play as well as it is played on a twelve string. Kinda seperates it from the cheese if ya know what I mean.....
Some people say Lenny or Life without you, but this is MY personal favorite Stevie Ray song, its just beautifull. this world is a sadder darker place without Stevies shining light, Rest In Peace man!!
...imagine a bend playing in Heaven ... Freddy Mercury , Jaco Pastorius, Jeff Porcaro and of course one and only never reached never forgotten Stevie Ray Vaughan !!!
my neighbor was first cousins with stevie ray and never knew it.. his grandma called him crying when we lost him or he probably still wouldn't believe it. true story.
@dmonney123 yeah it's really a good feeling for me. I never expected the number of views and comments on my videos. I'm just honored to be part of such an amazing soulful community.
@zippo8695 ya know a lot of my pics ive recieved from a very close source. A friend of mine named Connie (youtube: crickettt). I'm sure she could help ya out, bud!
awesome pics thanks my favorite tune which my friend would play and we would sing it became his morning anthem thank you Stevie Ray for being the spirit that you are your music is magic RIP
p.s. I lost that same friend a year and a half ago and this song will forever be in my heart with him and tears in my eyes cause the words for us are too true he went his way and I mine I wish he could have heard Life without you live with the speech maybe he wouldn't have lived life by the drop....
@Herdbound a sad thing, losing someone you love and care about. Ive been through it, it's very tough. But pieces like this somehow help me manage to make it through the day. After singing along, I feel so much better and listening to his music allows all my troubles to melt away. I pray it can do the same for you and help to soothe your wounds. Thanks for the info, man, it takes a lot to be able to write about that kind of stuff. :)
@dirtbikeracer0129 thanks racer I appreciate the time for your care !! ((~: and yes it is hard to lose someone Im only glad that I brought Stevie to him to enjoy so much his last year and all Stevie Ray is magic but this song will forever be extra special. Thanks for your reply (~:
@dirtbikeracer0129 thank you . Sorry Im so about the music when Im here I forget that I actually have an inbox and stuff lol. I appreciate your wish for the music to soothe and bring peace.Thank you and yes sometimes there are no tears and sometimes lots but its always healing ! (~:
I agree with Wguitarist. I am only 16. SRV is one of my favorite's and this song is one of my all time favorite's. I really don't like almost any of the so called music of today. And if we could get people to listen and enjoy music like SRV's music or BB King or Hendrix or led zeppelin this country would be better off. More respect.
@zzacksback he played this on his twelve string at the mtv show (pics featured in the video) but the actual recording for it is so rare that its practically impossible to find. Keep jammin!
Makes me cry every time I hear this tune. I can't express into words what his music means to me. The reason I play a strat. The reason I try to stay humble and live a good life. Rave on Stevie..Rave on!
@TheRogueJackass keep on livin life the way you are. He can always teach us something. Humility was on of his most recognizable traits. I cry too, bro. It just touches the soul. :)
this is one of the few songs i can listen to endlessly. A beautiful acoustic song, and my inspiration in my playing. Thanks Stevie Ray Vaughan, rest in peace.
he was just legend. way before his time. It might sound fake, but im glad to even live in his time span. He such an inspiration to me. The song reminds me of how my childhood friend and I just sort of separated through the years.
I love you Stevie, you will always be remembered.
Thats awesome man. I love seein people so inspired by him like I am. It warms my heart just to see SRV fans share things like that and I think its great how SRVs memory can make people share their personal lives. I love hearing this kind of stuff. Thanks for watchin and keep jammin to the blues man! :)
yea man this song reminds me of me and my brother playing "in the pouring rain" when we were kids just thinkin bout good times... but now were our own ways... srv's my favorite man thanks for the vid, it never ceases to amaze me how much i connect to his music
@dirtbikeracer0129 I agree... SRV played with soooo much soul and feeling... personally this is my favourite song he played. I love covering a lot of his songs beceause they just feel so right. I wish I could write and play with a minute amount of his feeling and soul...
@WGuitarist Also, its kind of depressing that more people my age don't know about SRV... (I'm 17) I mean it would do my genereation good to listen to this rather than that crap they call music (rap)
Wow... it's sooooooooooo sooooooooooo new to me. i loved Stevie Ray vaughan for 2 years. and i listened to his music everyday and played his songs. but i didn't know that there was so great blues ballad in his album. i'm so sad that i can't have so much connect with his soul with out youtube. i want to buy his albums and book in korea either.
Yeah you mostly hear him show off his guitar but in this it was mainly one good clean classic blues rhythm and he really showed his vocal talents! I love it! I knwo I was born (unfortunately) the year he died. :(
dude that would suck. I lost my whole collection of srv vids and there was el mocambo, acl 83 and 89, tokyo, melbourne, pride and joy (music vids), and otherrs and im so pissed cuz i cant find it! Hope i didnt loose it moving!
I know me too! It kills me! I just wish i could sit and talk with him for like 20 minutes at least and talk about his personality and all thagt good stuff. I love Stevie... Ahh.... oh, sorry lol
yeah, i was born the year he died... Im gonna guess 95 is your birthyear? Not too many people under 20 know much or anythin bout him, Im impressed that you have a feel for blues. :) Thanks for watching!
I just remembered that! Thanks! I've been spending my day just jammin and pickin up stuff from him watching El Mocambo, Tokyo, Austin City Limits, ect. And I really noticed how much easier you could understand him singing when he cleaned up even on his albums! But he truly is the heart and soul of blues
Life at El Mocambo, I like all the songs, but my favorite ones are «Texas Flood» and a version of «So Excited», just can stop listen to it again and again....
My fav version of Voodoo Chile is 1983 Austin City, my fav version of Crossfire and Tightrope are Austin City 1989, my fav version of Lenny and Tin Pan Alley is Tokyo, and my fav version of Riviera Paradise is Austin City 1989
