@stiven86 That's because with a very tight rack, like you're now seeing in a lot of international tournaments, the nine ball doesn't move. On a home table or a pool hall table with dented cloth, you will almost never get a rack as tight as that.
ok, being a pool player for the last 35 years I will say this. It is only a fantastic break if you can play afterwards. A slamming break is completely useless if it puts you back in your chair.
If the 2-Ball and 8-Ball collide a few millimeters differently, the 2-Ball doesn't snuggle up against the 9 and he's got an easy out. It was an awesome break. The fact that he got an unfortunate roll takes NOTHING away from that.
Show this video to any excellent player, including the pros and they'll say the same thing: It was an incredible break, but he got an unfortunate roll.
Wondered how he carried on with that frame. Unless he potted that 2-ball, it would be hard to play a safety considering the number of balls left on the table...
To be honest, a snooker maximum is a huge achievement and a test of real skill... In pool that would probably equal running the table an awful lot of racks. I compete for some time now (pool) and the break is vital in most games, you gotta break a lot to get this good. That in most players opinion is skill. Oh, and I also like snooker a lot:)
I made five on the break, INCLUDING the 9 ball, in a 'casual' game, AND I have it on video! Now if I could work out how to edit it for YouTube and download it!.....Der!
good break, but i made 6 once many yrs ago and 5 on a couple of occassions--and yes, even at the age of 50,i can still break like king kong---a friend of mine made 6 on the break as well against me and he won the tourney as well
Mario He (from Austria. Maybe some of you know him) did a break like that at the EC's last week! And the 7th ball was standing about 2 inches off the cornerpocket... That was a break!!!
Yeah, I also witnessed that Break . As you said, the 7 Ball was right in the jaws of the corner pocket, the cue ball on a straight line with the 8 and a stpshot on the 8 would have given him perfect, straight-in shape on the 9 ball. Perfect break !!!
Not that it happens very often, but it seems like every time I've seen somebody make 5 or more balls on the break they NEVER get a good shot on the object ball. EVER. lol
lmao, this is true, I have made 6 balls on the snap on 1 occasion and I was left with the #3, #7 & #9 on the table, and I was hooked behind the 7 ball :) lol, also there's a video on youtube of Alex Pagulayan making 6 on the snap and he doesn't get out either and so, it just goes to show that 9Ball is an unpredictable game which makes it all the more enjoyable to play :)
easily the best power breaker on the planet i wish more players would break like this it would make the game so much more exciting. watch the way his whole body goes up in the air on some of his other breaks its amazing how he doesnt lose any acuracy. must have practiced that for years
De Luna's break is my absolute favorite and is my ideal model. I just love how the cue stops dead after it hits the rack. Any idea how to emulate that?? I think I remember De Luna losing that rack, ironically, due to the bad roll of the 2. Thanks for posting this!

"Being a pool player for the last 35 years" doesn't mean you know anything.
Power: he exploded the rack.
Cue ball control: after impact, the cue ball died right at center table. Perfect.
