  • Cool!

  • i like it ,but what this zone called anyway

  • Cool. Shame it's cancelled.

  • where are all these unfamiliar zones coming from, and how come they wern't in the games originally? DUST HILL ZONE, WOOD ZONE! What's next: AN ENORMOUS CASTLE DEEP WITHEN A SACRED CASTLE ZONE, ACT 1?

  • @jumbojokerjesse

Dust Hill, Hidden Palace, and Wood Zones were cut from Sonic 2 during development.

The Zone in this video is a custom made zone made for this hack, as that was the point of this hack....to have new zones.

  • @RanmaruMori ya and genocide city and the others, for so many years it feels like there was never any throw-off in the game, but why not release a 16-bit sonic 2 called sonic 2 full edition, for the extra zones and the challenge. But for the cut out zones, make robotniks, boss machines, different from each and every zone so there's a new and revolutionary challenge each level of the game.

  • I like the way you transitioned from speedy part to slow part, but the way the springs launch you seems unnatural, sometimes

  • It would be cool if you used this in a Sonic CD hack, because it could be the good future of an intact Eggman base.

  • why do these people over at Sonicretro never combine their work and make a fully complete game? It's useless. Another great hack with emense potential gone to waste because the creator doesn't want to finish it or leave it open source!

Amazing yet perfetic and pointless just like all the other great hacks. I'm looking at you Megamix! :(

  • @jspamax

Because usually the people with enough art/coding/design skill are already working on their own project. Most people suck at it so I would not want to release the source.

BTW, Megamix isn't is not canned anymore.

  • Out of the first three Sonic games, Sonic 3 was the best but Sonic 2 felt the most sexy and smooth. Know what I am saying? Too bad their is no insta-shield, elemental shield, or save files, that would make Sonic 2 better than Sonic 3.

  • Thing I love most about Sonic games (next to the gameplay which is tighter than a virgin) is the combination of trippy visuals with addictive music.

  • this is pretty sweet, ive just got a quick question whyd you use sonic 3 sprites instead of sonic 2, not that it matters just wondering

  • I like them better, and they use one less shade of blue so I also got another color to work with.

  • wow, that looks hard

  • I'd just like to go on record right now by saying this is the best hack i've ever played on... maybe best sonic game i've played on!!! i've just downloaded the beta and i cant get enough... such a challenge, fresh, but still close to the original!! im gutted your not finishing it... it has everything i would want in a sonic game!!! didnt think mega mix could be topped.... but...... nice work!!!

  • This is too tight gots to download this.

  • whoever made this is good I can't wait for it.

  • It's already out, check the video description. :)

  • That sounds like an awesome mix of Sky High Zone on Sonic 2 for Gamegear!

  • Does anyone remember great gate zone or Sonic Unity...?.. lol oh well, this zones way better!

  • This is awesome, I want to say that first... but I love the levels where you can almost go completely through without stopping once you've mastered it. Seems a little slow and 'square' for a Sonic level, that's all.

  • Awesome level!

  • How exactly do you edit games like this?

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that a remix of the GameGear/Master System "Sky High Zone" theme?

  • Where'd you get the music? I like it! I have to know what kind of music is that! :D

  • this looks like a brillaint hack mate.. very very impressive, lokoing forward to it been finsihed

  • It's got the same name because it's the same hack...

  • It's not an edit of sonic 3.

  • Okay, now was the REALLY necessary, Ashura? So what if he doesn't like the Sonic 3 sprites? You may not agree with it, but he DOES have the right to an opinion. As a matter of fact, I, myself, would have preferred the Sonic 2 sprites to stay. Maybe I should "get the fuck out", too, then?

Now, on a side this hack is looking better and better every time. Keep up the good work, Rika Chou.

  • This is fantastic stuff!! Terrible shame you have to use Sonic 3 sprites though.

  • Wow...

  • The graphics still going more and more better, the gameplay looks improved. I apreciate everyone which be happy makinf the other ones happy. Go! rika Go!

  • This is amazing,if there wasn't the Sonic 2 title,i would have thought that this is a hack of Sonic 3 and Knuckles! This is really going to be very interesting! So then does anybody know when is going to come out! Can't wait!

  • Wow. I remember the initial (or was it actually v.2?) release of this project. It's come quite a long way.

  • Are you gonna use the S3 life icon?

  • I remember this one, looks like you improved it a great deal here. GJ! btw, would be cool if some of those falling bridges functioned instead like the breakable blocks in marble zone of sonic 1. just for variety!

  • Nice job! I remember this in Version 2. I will be looking forward to playing this when it's completed!

  • Amazing!

  • Awesome, as always. :P

  • Awesome! When will the next rom come out? (This is ZeroGiga, by the way)
