I know this is a bit late but isnt Dee Jay'ing all about the music? If the tune is good, peeps will be down with it. So what if somebody plays Two or Three tracks on 10 minutes. If they are good tracks, Bingo. Dont get me wrong, Im down with the skills an gadgets but some times it think these things can overwrite the music which is what its all about.
i mix like dis all the time, playin 1 record is boring, another thing thats good is puting 4 beat loop in all the time,so the bass is pumpin, but i mix hardstye/hardtrance doesnt work with every type of music!
anyone can scratch by flicking a few switches and pressing a few buttons, but it takes skill and practise to scratch and mix vinyl, and actually, yes they do lol, you wont find a drum n bass artist or hardcore artist that doesnt use vinyl in thier sets any more, so before you go speaking your mind, make sure you even know what your on about ;)
I wish i had your spare time.. I need to give up working full time.. fair play you are passionate about what you believe in, but you have waaaay too much free time on your hands.
to niksegee, actualy i dont have much free time , i just use most of my time doing things! Work, house work, kids , work, youtube, work, wife , kids, work, wife, wife wife , kids , work, did i say kids!! LOL j
You call that mix a "bloody nightmare!?!?" ... god help us all if you really took your time man! That was freakin wicket!! Maybe I should say "bloody AWESOME!"
by the way, I can't dj for shit. I used to mix 'got to be there' FAST with planet rock haha it was cool. Listen to got to be there by the jackson 5, twice the speed. it's so cool. reminiscent of knights of the turntables.
yo man, you could have sent an AUX signal to your pc, then mixed the audio with the video in Premier or maybe win edit. I'd use Premier Elements and Goldwave. Just it would make a better video, and no 'sorry for the audio'. not a critisicm, I'm trying to be helpful. Cheerz :) craig
to bolser, no i was not if you look you can see that 1, i dont look at it and 2, because i move the pitch so fast the bpm counter would not be able to count the beats so fast.
EXTREME mixing there buddy ! i liked it! altough thats not really the style i play much hehehe
Pretty nice and trust me it was not rough, i liked it a lot and that was SICK!
obs. Did you forget to low the volume in the mixer for 3rd turntable at 2:34? it seemed that u were going to beat match and u accidently forgot to lower the volume hehehe, then when u lowered u were fixing the pitch because it was a little off LOL
it dont matter, he said use all your gear! even if it helps use a beat counter, for something not so rated by hisself was actually very good just allmost the old-school way :)
I dunno how I'm gonna enter, I have a CD burner but I cant get it to work so that sucks and It sounds absuloutly horrible on my cameras mic :( aaaaand my computer is in a whole other room and people arnt gonna be happy me moving things around
It was a little choppy but got the point across well. For another example of a good quickmix check out this Promo Intro mix for Robbie Rivera's Juicy America CD. This was done my Mixin Marc, here in Chicago.

It's a nightmare because when two vinyls go out of sync at the same time it's hard to put everything together back in sync.
Thank you for posting it, good job!
