that is amazing I have a few questions number 1. Will the code be open source? 2. Can the sun be dynamic as well as the shadows? 3. If you do open source this can it be used in a game? btw awesome job it looks amazing I have been looking for quality planet render like this for awhile and I love the fact that you can do that in real time.
....are those active shadows on the terrain shading the entire terrain of the planet, or just what's visible in the camera? Either way, my mind is blown on the quality of work here! Epic!
Yeah, I can tweak the specularity to change the sun reflection quite easily, as far as the speed of decent is concerned: this is a tech demo not a game engine at the moment so there is no physics simulation, it just uses a free roaming camera.
This is absolutely incredible. My only recommendation would be to get the water not to sparkle like crazy when you're getting somewhat close to it. It is almost like mipmapping is not being used on the water texture.
amazing job! the video could use higher quality, but still looks great

NO, I'm only asking so I can use this for my next game, or video. I would give FULL credit to this guy.
But I guess I have to do this myself, sigh.

I'd like to see the next flight simulator use this engine for terrain rendering :)

I have a hard time understanding why something so impressive has less than a thousand views.

Now that, is just amazing... Awesome in fact..
Clouds at low altitude could be better I think, but how trivial is that compared to what you have done there!!
Great work.

Wow, nice terrain. Care to share details about the generation?
I see no popup, are you doing geomorphing?
Loved the atmosphere and specially automatic exposure, are you using float buffers?
Cloud billobards don't look so hot.

Very interesting stuff. I'd ask, how would you compare your planets to the Infinity I-novae engine?
