@LaoLaneXang4Lifeyes, it may not be her real name, but if you talk about Yaa Mo, most everyone knows who you are talking about, in particular, in Khorat city and Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Her monument, and there are many in the province, is very popular as I have seen for myself. More people in Khorat, I would argue, like and respect her, than those who do not. Lao people might not like war but they were involved in a lot of them as can be witnessed from the old histories from Lan Chang.

@Ocean7711, thanks for your very nice comment. This is a very famous song owing to its lyrics and its historical importance. I have only heard one other singer in Thailand who can do this song justice, and she worked with Sunaree for five years.

@tonibabydoll1063, these are great comments. I am learning more and more about Yaa Mo every day. I have visited this site, and Wat Yaa Mo too. Many Korat people refer to the city as Muang Yaa Mo, and themselves as Laan Yaa Mo. I am beginning to feel that I also am Laan Yaa Mo. 55555 Sunaree really performs this song well.
