You don't know what you are talking about. I am an installer and for people that are on a budget these are nice bang for the buck.Three years ago I installed two of these on a ported box, with a cheap 800w 2 channel american pro amplifier (not bridged). It was hitting hard then and today they are still hitting hard, side panel rattling and tag rattling hard. All day, every day. I would buy these before sony explode or visonic. If it was a dual maybe but with pioneer its no the product's fault...
i ran 4 of the newer version of these on a 2400wrms amp for about 4 months they failed becouse the tensel leads broke from over excursion.i knew it was gana happen but they did hold up for a while check my vids
lol i bought 4 of these brand new the second week they were available i have them on a 1600rms hifonics brutus...they broke 2 windows in my car...they are cheap but slam would recommend 100%
@hoodreview Yea, but I;ve seen way too many good revies for these that theres no way i could be convinced that theyre bad... in fact, i think i might buy one soon :D
ive had mine for 2 years now no problem with a 200 watt rockford .... but u can get better subs if u just save 100 more but i do want to say that pioneer does make good products u cant hate on the hole brand because u bought the cheapest they pioneer can compete with the rest of em if u just buy there subs that are not sold at walmart lol
haha hood review.. i met a guy on the bus that said he was from thugish chef cooking he looked like a G and even had a book witten about cooking in the hood, reminds me of this.
this is some bull shit these subs have a sensitivity of 97 db and a feq range of 20 t0 90 hz thats pritty dam good compared to other subs try puting them in a good ported box thats built to specs and then tell me what you think !!
Damn same exact shit as me haha.. They are pretty decent hu? Good bang for the buck I think.. I'm getting pretty bored of them though lol I need to pack my trunk more
@DJMONEYE i KNOW THIS IS A YR OLD BUT THIS COMMENT MADE ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE AT ALL. USING A MONO BLOCK AMP ISN'T SMART? TELL ME WHY? BEING THAT THE SUBS ARE 4OHM HE COULD OF USED A 2 CHANNEL OR BRIDGED 4 CHANNEL AMP BUT HE DIDN'T HE DECIDED TO USE A MONO CHANNEL AMP WHICH IS PERFECTLY FINE IF THE AMP IS 2OHM STABLE. MOST IF NOT ALL AMPS ARE 2OHM STABLE AND IF HE WIRED HIS SUBS PARALELL THEN THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN 2OHM LOAD FOR THE AMP. SO AGAIN I ASK WHY WASN'T IT SMART TO USE A MONO BLOCK AMP?
@DJMONEYE You can use any amp, as long you dont clip. 2 ch, monobock, 4 ch its all the same. But monoblock d class are the best for subs and they are more efficient and noob like this guy thing the gain is a volume when its to match up the voltage your your head unit. Dont be a noob and clip and this wont happen to anyone. Plus those are cheap subs only 150 rms.
U sure u didn't install ur shtt wrong. i have these and they sound pretty nice 4 78.00 . i been having these for about a month and they work fine. i hav em pushed by a 1000 watt mono amp . these shake the fukk out my trunk, my rear mirror, my side mirrors. with the right song they even shake things from inside my car.
Can't really go by one experience. I mean accidents happen during install. If it happened twice I would say yes. Anyway I feel your pain. Hifonics makes a great budget sub! Nice review, peace.
you're a such a liar i know what happen with yah you don't even know how to equalizer your amp with the subs the fuckin rms it has to be 150 anyway cuz you dont know anythythin about it .i have those sub and amp 600 sony they hits hard alot and i would recomend them for me and my friends they're the best boom and check this video just type "bass in true luxury car"and "subs broke box"

This guy is way too convinced that it is Pioneer's fault, when in all probability, it is most likely his fault.

yeah they r pieces of shit, i knew it once i felt how light they were. A real sub is heavy. u get what u pay for.
so what did u replace them with ?
1Dirtcity 3 years ago
Hmm... That is odd, I have been pushing them HEAPS, and that can be proven in my videos, it could depend on the enclosure, but not so much.

Don't buy old subs and expect them to sound like 2009 subs. Especially if they're the old, low end pioneers.
diablo2369 3 years ago
I have the older versions of these and i've had them for two years now running on 125 rms each and they have worked great for me.
thtsthgdstuf 3 years ago
how was your gain set?
running more than RMS on the subs?
and i agree with the L5 and L7
i got a 15" L5 in my car
its a beaute
SmellyCatPoo97 3 years ago
the gain was set very low. and they still conked out.
