very nice, the slide part kind of beck-sounding. except without the whammy bar. the tone too. nice classical technique approach to blues, usually u only see classically trained guitarists play metal
Kirk, if you see this, can I ask why it's called "Sixteen Twenty Five"? I understand if not. When I get me an Ayers some time, and can play a lot better, I'll have to learn this tune.
absolutely fantastic! and so easy listening... yet am guessing its pretty hard to create that feel... whats the tone parameters you're using dude? how do you make it so sweet? can i set it up on my podXT or does it require specific gear?
This is absolutely 100% the type of music that educates even grandma to like a little distortion in the chapel. Lovely Kirk - words cannot comment - The Ayer's sounds so warm, it's got a rock in the desert named after it !
The action is pulled up a bit by the heavy strings I use (16 - 18 - 24 - 4 - 44 - 54), but it's not really all that high. I am able to play it normally without any trouble, although bending is not easy.
Hi Kirk - Awesome! Your slide phrasing sounded Jeff Beck-ian (if there isn't such a word, there is now). Could you give a quick run down on your Strat and amp set up? String quage, pickup type, any pedals, amp type. It seems so dynamic. You cool off on your attack and becomes clean but I notice when you lean into it, it dirty's up perfectly. Like at 2:34. You get this amazing tone with an ever so slight break up. I'm guessing your playing at room volume. Again awesome song and amazing tone.
Wow, I really like the sound of that Strat!! It has a very deep, pleasing sound, without being way over done.

Hi, tigerbright22 ... the main theme is a I vi ii V progression. 1625 ... sixteen twenty-five. I wasn't feeling too poetic the day I named it!

lol I don't even know what one of those is yet! But thanks, and it's a lovely piece. One of my favourite pieces of music.

KIRK,
How is your action pretty high on the Strat??? I don't have as good control over my slide with my Tele.
