They both make good points. No one wants to end medicare or the veteran's health care system but is it even Constitutional? Maybe a new amendment is in order? It's a difficult question that's why they both make very good arguments. Brian Bard made a good point though. It is Constitutional for the Federal government to give the funding the state's need to fund a health care program.

Bit it didn't, it yielded the worst healthcare system in the world for the dollar, you end up with the sickest people, people who avoid doctors because they can't afford them. 62% of all bankruptcies are due to medical costs. A 20 year old American is in the same health as a 60 year old Brit. We are 39th in the world and are behind those nations with socialized medicines.

That's a pretty good argument. Unfortunately the VA's motto is an Araham Lincoln quote basically saying that if you want a standing army to protect your ass you better be willing to pay for the soldiers well being. I'm split on the whole thing myself, but trust me as a former Marine with the VA healthcare, its terrible and I barely use their services because of it. The VA Healthcare is a good model for what you'll get if government gets into the h insurance business.

If you don't use the VA it's kind of hard to say whether it's good or bad. Oh and the VA isn't insurance , it's a provider so no, it's not a great model but it is socialism.
