My question to you is this, if you know that the name was NOT originally Jesus and that all the "Translated" versions of the name began with a "Y" sound and the "J" sound didn't exist until about 400 years ago, then WHY do you push and use the name Jesus and not use Iesous for example? Jesus is NOT the "English" translation and if you must use a new form with a "J" sound why would you not use Joshua? Joshua the son of Nun had the same name as the BRANCH and Yahuwshuwa is that BRANCH!

The translators had no right to cross through each language which completely changes the name. The went from Hebrew to Greek to Latin to English which is WRONG! The new language may have different letters or character in that language but you find the letters which make the same sound, it will ALWAYS sound the same! If there is not an equivelant you simply write or speak the name in its original language. Names are Proper Nouns and DO NOT change, words which are not specific are Common Nouns and they are translated. Proper nouns are TRANSLITERATED and carry over!
