Factually, The band Kansas was formed in Topeka, Kansas.....doesn't matter where the individuals are from. I knew their drummer when he went to Jr. college in Coffeyville, Kansas..............just some trivia
@hickrystyk Yeah, they used to play all over the area back in the 70's. I bought a Gibson L6s that used to belong to one of the guitar players from a little music store in Topeka back in 1976 - 77. Funny thing..... I used to look a lot like the violin player and I had a friend who lookd exactly like Kerry Livgren. When we would go to bars in Topeka, people would always mistake us for the Kansas dudes.
@spyguys I think thats kinda neat, people used to ask me if I was Vitas Gerilitas the famous tennis player who over dosed. I look just like he does but I played keyboard for a lot of different rock bands when they needed help. Vitas came to a show and on back stage after wards. We both had real long hair, mine in a pony tail his not, just real curley. Very nice guy, went to some of his matches later.
Mike Pinera (thegtr.introducer) is well known as being a bit "Vaudeville" and a self promoter...When I saw him with Classic Rockers he was suggesting from the stage that he was with Iron Butterfly when they released "Inna Gadda Da Vida". He didn't join for at least 4-5 years later....so go figure his strange intro....
Man... only a gifted mand like Mr. Steve "the best prog vocal of all times" Walsh to take that and STILL sing as... Steve Walsh... Must he live forever!
Southern Rock . . . "Kansas"? (Topeka) . . . last time I looked at Kansas history, it was part of the Union? Uhh . . . that guy should not get high on his own supply! That was hilarious! :P -MAVIII(prOgulus . c O m)
You are absolutely correct! I went back and reread the booklet that came with my box set and sure enough it said St. Joseph home of the pony express not St. Louis! I must have glossed over it too quickly! Thanks for the correction! I love your collection of Kansas material!
im still love this guy

That dumbass shouldn't be aloud to perform with Steve Walsh, even if it is just a charity concert.
