I respectfully offer to you that as the video states the concern is not about paying fair and reasonable taxes, but rather wasteful spending and possible tax increases that will stunt the growth of the economy rather than stimulate it. And just so you know, I have been working at least 40 hours a week since I was 16 (ahem, nearly 20 years -- eek!) and have always paid my taxes honestly and on time.
Well, although they didn't consult me :) I think it's the idea of taxation with representation that's not representing us in the way we want to be represented (and so the protest is to demand proper representation). I'm frustrated with my congressman and senators. I have written a lot only to have my pleas for more fiscal responsibility fall on deaf ears (all of my reps are republican, btw).

You make a good point. Read Ron Paul's book "A Foreign Policy of Freedom and Peace". He has always pushed for not spending money in wars. That money could be used to take care of people who have become dependant on government assistance here at home, and a gradual shift to less government caregiving could begin. A truly free market does a much better job at providing prosperity to the people than government collecting and doling out all the money.

As evidence of how peaceful the event was I want to point out that there was a woman parading the perimeter of the gathering chanting "O-BAM-A" endlessly.
She received some angry shouts here and there, but that's all. Eventually the crowd started to find it amuzing and used her chanting to echo back "NO-bam-a".
The press however followed her, hoping to capture an unpleasant "scene" to report. I guess conservatives are just too decent!
I was there, it was a great event! We couldn't have asked for better weather, the turn out was amazing and HUGE, and the message signs were terrific!!

they said that it was just a small group of people who were disgruntled with the stimulus, they gave the dnc chairman some uninterrupted propaganda spewing , and then they reported half the story on a few ppl who were causing trouble rather than the 1000 peaceful ones.

They didn't say there was a small group of people. In fact, the reporters opening line was "there was hardly any room to stand on the square here today, there were so many people". They spoke to three against stimulus, one who was for it. As for the "half the story" part, she paid respect to the organizer who rose to her defense and said "overwhelmingly people had great things to say, they had a great lineup of speakers"

You make a good point. Read Ron Paul's book "A Foreign Policy of Freedom and Peace". He has always pushed for not spending money in wars. That money could be used to take care of people who have become dependant on government assistance here at home, and a gradual shift to less government caregiving could begin. A truly free market does a much better job at providing prosperity to the people than government collecting and doling out all the money.

I worked for the media for 15 years... media concerns are overwhelmingly staffed with leftists. They've been slanting stories to some degree as long as I can remember. All I can say... that if a few people get angry with you... is that you reap what you sow. Most of these reporters... children... come from good homes in safe neighbors and were insulated and indoctrinated in college... they don't know people and are very sensitive to viewpoints other than their own.

As evidence of how peaceful the event was I want to point out that there was a woman parading the perimeter of the gathering chanting "O-BAM-A" endlessly.
She received some angry shouts here and there, but that's all. Eventually the crowd started to find it amuzing and used her chanting to echo back "NO-bam-a".
The press however followed her, hoping to capture an unpleasant "scene" to report. I guess conservatives are just too decent!
