Do you have any idea how many ladies tell my wife how lucky she is to be able to stay home with our kids? MANY Wives and Mothers prefer to stay at home with their children, instead of being part of the work force. I am not opposed to ladies in the workforce. End, You completely missed the point that I was trying to make. There is a difference between both parents HAVING to work to provide basic necessities for the family, and having both parents working so they can afford toys, and by toys, I mean items like quads, ski boats, and a new car every three years. IMHO, it is more important to have a parent home, either mom, OR DAD, while the kids are there.

Some people have their priorities mixed up, and think it is more important to have a boat they can take their kids out on two or three times a year, than to have a loving parent that they can come home to each day. We have kids come over after school all the time because their folks are both at work, and they dont want to be home alone, again. In general, we as a country need to get our priorities straightened out. Let the one you love know it by being there for them.

I agree that if possible one parent should be home for their kids to come home to..but again your ORIGINAL comment made it sound like you thought it should be the wife/mother, and that the only reason she would want to work is so they could make their Lexus payments. Not always true.

Alternatively, you can each work separate shifts so one person is home for the child. You don't see each other as much but it's usually a temporary situation.
