Just have to say very nice WELL done. I was an Alter Boy from 1958 til abou 1969, sneakers and or jeans would not have been allowed.. Also Fr. Barcelos I have to comment on your CHASUBLE,that is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and I have seen thousands. My Mother and Grandmother made my uncles vestments when he was Ordained as a Trappist Priest. May GOD bless you and your Parish! kevlutu

The Novus Ordo Mess Mass doesn't mind sneakers, but the Novus Ordo Mass is a Mess. Sneakers would NEVER be allowd at a TLM. The Novus Ordo Mass is JUNK.

I can remember when I first started altar serving in 4th grade. I made so many mistakes! I remember that it was so embarrassing! I took a leave of absence from it for a while to join some other ministries like choir, etc., but I ended up dropping that as well. I came back to being a server about a year ago and I would never leave again. It's fun, I'm not as scared as I used to be when I was in 4th grade, and you learn to laugh off your mistakes.

Well, much of the Novus Ordo "New" Mass is indeed boring. The Traditional Latin Mass draws you into the reality of God and Christ. Hand clapping, hand shaking, Protestant style hymns and "aura," tends to turn the Mass into a pedestrian event.

I have been an altar server for 9 years and am in minor seminary. If you are just starting to serve, this is a guide that is done very well. Being an altar boy changed my life and was a big part of becoming a seminarian. Even if you don't like it at first, stick with it because God works wonders daily! Pax Tecum

Well, it depens. Usually the sterio type is they are at Life Teen Mass. If that is the case, then naturally I would suggest the Tridentine Latin Mass. If the kids complaning about the Mass are at the Tridentine Latin Mass then I would encourage them to "pray the Mass". Insted of just sitting around.

I was an altar server, but in my parish you can't serve anymore after 8th grade. This year I am in 9th, so I am too old.

I aggre with dacatholicbandorgan, since most of the Altar Boys at the Latin Mass don't live the general area, it would be difficult to get tranning (which is usually after the Mass) and beat the afternoon traffic at the same time.

we would like to as soon as we become more familiar with it. We go to Latin mass, but have not studied the responses well enough to do so. We want to make sure we do it justice.

I go about once a month or so, and will be going this Sunday. You can look up the responses on the internet or call the Latin Mass Altar boy trainner for St.Therese for help.
