  • if u knew anythig. u would have respect for all makes and models of "cool" cars and trucks. i went form a 10 sec bb chevelle (1967 ss) to my triumph tr6. guess what. i drive the triumph all the time to my boat and havent been to race at the track in years. signed blue collar male beer drinker.

  • My dear old mother actually learnt to drive in a 2.5l TR6 hardtop!

  • I'm American and love muscle cars but the ford would win in a strait line corner like a track day tr6 wins

  • @95oldsman Yes, but if you go with a Ford, you'd actually have to drive a Ford everyday. And that's a bridge too far.

  • did the germans really design this car? Who i wonder?

  • God I love these cars! Have to agree with him, it is the blokiest blokes car ever. No mincing or poncing, just straight to the point. I would happily trade in all my current vehicles for a tidy one.

  • i have this car ;)

  • My mom dropped me off at kindergarten in my dad's TR6 quite often, or so they tell me. Can't remember that far back myself.

20+ years and its still in good shape!

Give or take a few funny mishaps here and there.

  • men drive a 1969 Ford Gran Torino fastback with a 427cobra jet, or a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 Megacab dually 4x4 Cummins

  • @dickcheese663 Men who are compensating for some other shortcoming.

  • @dickcheese663 I had heard that the Gran Torino was a bit of a white elephant and was actualy pretty poor when it came to driving. I can't say for myself as I've never been in one let alone driven one but that coment came from an american car enthusiast (by that I mean he was an american, not someone who's just into amercian cars). Not trying to cause an argument with this by the way so please don't take offence.

  • @dickcheese663 The Triumph TR6 could whoop your Torino's ass around the English countryside or even any road with corners.

  • @dickcheese663 the first one im into, trucks though unless you actually need one are pointless, stupid, vehicles

  • @dickcheese663 All of which would panic and die as soon as they came across a tight hairpin complex up in the Stelvio pass, or the Transfagarashan.

  • @unityd3v dude, this car might handle good but its slow as shit, even on the track, trust me dude, a little piece of shit spitfire will never hang with a camaro or corvette. All i've owned in my life is bmw's including a set of heavy modded m3 and m5 (engine and suspension). As soon as i drove the new 5.0 mustang (fyi, I fukin HATE mustangs) i just knew that would blow any of my cars away. My friend back home has a 09 Z06, dude game over. Plus, 95% of british sports cars are rust buckets

  • @dickcheese663 You do not know how fast this one is...it never made it to the states. We got twin carb models, they got "petrol injection" ...about 50 more ponies for them

  • @vfhondas Point is, those cars are long gone, they might have been fun to drive and shit back then, but dont believe everything top gear says, bias towards euro cars like motor trend is bias to american. Motor trend sucks ass, british sports cars are fun, slow, small, rusted, and dead, corvette, viper acr, and ford GT is all america has, Nissan GTR rules all until it breaks down in 20,00 miles...... actually all cars 04 and up suck ass after 60,000 miles.

  • My mum drives this car O:

  • whats the song at 2:32 !!!!

  • My dad has one in dark green. It couldn't even move. That was four years ago. The thing is now a goddamn monster. Did I mention we're pure blood Americans?

  • @sparkkle2 racing green!

  • LOL, that's ME! I'd totally be driving around in the rain in an open sports car...I hate roofs and windows! I've never owned [anything close to] a sports car, but I did spend last summer driving a Geo Tracker around without any top or windows. Rain and shine, seriously! I'd have drove it until December, but unfortunately the body mounts were rusted and finally broke. Amazing fun off-road, but it was old. =( Anyway, I wonder why the Brits always hire out the design work to furriners? Lazy?

  • Most of the Ford Mustangs around here are driven by women. It makes me terribly confused, really.

  • thats cuz america sucks

  • @Motorfordtoyota Yes, that's because American men are insecure and don't know how to drive. So they just get something that feels really big and powerful and hit the gas pedal. And are a country addicted to ridiculous amounts of oil while the rest of the world laughs because they've known how to love small, quick cars for decades. And like 90% of cars sold in the US are AUTOMATICS! Are you proud of that too? 85% of 4x4 "trucks" (if you can still call them that) never go off-road. Oh, USA...

  • good job it wasn`t a hot day or the fuel lift pump would have overheated. It happened to me so often i had a bottle of water in the boot that I could soak an old towel in and wrap around the offending item

  • first TR6 I ever saw had been buggered about with - a chevy 5.6 V8, man it was quick

  • Having had a TR6 Mk1 from new 1972 model until I sold it in 1977 I can assure you all it was a car with some 'umph' for its day but it it was utterly useless on corners.Mind you I used it for travelling to Germany and back every few weeks so it was ideal and off course I got the duty free fuel that the forces got in W Germany in those days.Wouldn't like to run one today though at 21 miles to the gallon and that went down to about 14 mpg at 100mph plus on the autobahn! Still, it was good fu.

  • He's making a big joke about british cars in the rain. the bit about 30 years for this and a perfect day. they must have fixed the wiring!!!

  • SWEET

  • i think a triumph is cooler than a corvette, but not faster, but who cares

  • @MsFreddy14 i agree

  • In the States, the old jokes about the TR6 were that the driver either

    A) Couldn't afford a Corvette or

    B) was as working his way towards a Corvette.

Lots of TR6 drivers named 'Jim' and 'Bob' who wore boots and cowboy hats.

  • @andxx0r The Triumph TR6 was the working mans sports car, the car he could take to work and race aganist the rich boys wiht his E Type during he weekends.

  • it's actually a very good looking car tbh

has way more characters than the bland boxes they call cars today

  • James you are absolutely righ!! I love all Triumphs but this one especially. The TR6 really is something else. Incredible car! There's nothing wrong with lying awake thinking about how one of these works James, nothing at all! Great upload. Thanks very much.

  • I was either 10 or 11 when I rode in a neighbors new '69 or '70 in Hampton, Va. The US yellow one with the flag on it. I always remember the long tunnel like foot wells & how different it was from our VW beetle. I always liked them. I think any woman would look good driving one.

  • "well we don't have hand baggery here, thank you" xD:!!!

  • Does anyone know the song at 2:33?

  • @vts101 i was wondering that myself!

anyone know the song at 2:33? it sounds so familiar.

  • Look at this ff...... weather!

  • haha, my mom had a tr6, great car

  • !! love this show !!

  • WHAT MELODY IS AT THE BEGINNING

  • @georgel19841 name of the song is_ duet of the flowers

  • breastwart? haha
