Clean my Mac ! ! Do not download this "cleaner" for your Mac. I got it about 1 year ago and my Mac has been in constant trouble since. I eventually dumped it this week, once again cleared my drive and re-installed all of my software. Now my Mac does what I want it to do.
Cache is pronounced "Cash". It's too bad that Mac users have to buy this stuff, when PC users can use CCleaner for free. You can actually see the files that are being deleted and have a lot more control. I really want to switch from PC/Linux to Mac....but it seems that more and more you have to purchase programs that should be free :(
@AppReviewMan Mac isn't "more secure", it is just less focused on. So, since the majority of viruses/etc. are programmed for PCs you would have more of a chance of encountering one. If Macs become the preferred choice in the computing world they will get more viruses/etc. Using that logic, I might as well just stick with Linux, because it is even less used, so it will have less viruses/etc. Anyway, good review...at least I know that I can use something if I make the switch.
@crispben That's what I really meant, and that kind of makes me glad that they are so expensive haha. With Linux though, there isn't a lot of applications developed for it, which is kind of the drawback from having a less popular OS.
@crispben so sir are a dumbass. Mac is built on UNIX, making it more secure. Also, for windows you NEED cleaner as Winodws 7 has so much shit installed on it. On mac you really shouldn't use CleanMyMac, Plus there's a free program called Onyx that works much better.
@rbkhockey83 "You sir" or "so sir"? Being built on Unix does not make it more secure in and of itself, it just makes it a less targeted OS. However, this will not be case for much longer as Apple OS is becoming more and more popular, thus becoming a target for malicious programs.
Win7 is not preloaded with 3rd party apps, that would come from 3rd party PC/laptops like Dell. Plus, this program is used to get rid of cache and other temp files, not programs...I'm not sure you understand that?
@AppReviewMan - I seems this app covers a lot more, but how is this much different than the Disk Utility (pre-installed in the OS)? Or do they even compare?
@Nk19998 Well you do not know exactly, but it also depends what you choose in the sidebar. Like the catches, logs, language files, universal binaries, development junk, and extensions.
ahahhaah im not good on a computer and i tried typing in mac app on the computer in google or yahoo and nothing came up ... like a real good download .
soo if you have the download link may you personal message me ?
@AppReviewMan 1 more questionn ... ahahah so sorry :P
i have downloaded it now and it has scanned everything done everything its suppose too but what does it clean ? .... like does it clean the files i havnt opened in a long time ? annd what happens if it deletes a file i didnt want it too ... im kinda scareed to do this now :P ahhaah
@catchmeashley No it's fine haha. Hit clean, and no in the sidebar you can select the files that you want it to clean. I never had anything bad happen when I used this program, but that other program MacKeeper almost wiped my computer..... so don't use that haha
@lacrossmaster199823 You can select Trashes and leftovers, if you select the items wich are used by programs you use every day. it will break your program, i had this with my Adobe Creative Suite.
i like this but I am scared it will remove something important because I have 20 or so games on steam and I don't want it to mess any of them up. do you know if it will or not?
@Guitarrosaurusrex No dude you are just paying twice as much for the memory, just get name brand stuff though, I don't think it has to be anything special for Mac
@Guitarrosaurusrex Okay douche why leave these kinds of comments? And this is what I do. Now if you don't like it then just go to the next video, I have other people that subscribe to this. At least I have a Mac, but I have to be polite and you do play guitar quite well
I don't know why that is but no it isn't. It does erase apps like Appzapper but it is also a registry cleaner too i guess. Definitely CleanMyMac by far.
maybe i'll try this out cause i used appzapper to delete Veoh but a few days later i found a folder that said Veoh and it had some small sized "things" in it. wtf is that all about? i thought it was supposed to delete EVERYTHING associated with an app that's zapped? now i'm stressin, lol
Mac OS X is the most secure OS out there. There are probably 100 viruses to about 10,000 PC viruses. Yeah it shouldn't hurt your system and if it did just pop the installation disk back in and it will fix it and keep your settings as well.
a 38 second intro.
