The ending of this short film is quite appropreate in that it reminds me of the book "Lord of the Flies".

have any of you read dispatches?, the book by michael herr, the guy giving the 'naive' speech, he spent a great deal of time in vietnam and wrote this incredible book, i suggest you read it before you criticize him based on the snippet from the doco, you can't judge him simply based on this, and to anyone wanting to shit on my comment SUCK MY COCK!, thankyou......
Quite a naive speech. people don't "continue to make war" the heads of the country , and not because of beautyfull/horrible aspects of it or what one may learn from it, not even if we accept the fact that war comes with the human being and cannot be erradicated, but only beacuse of money.
Of course, in a time far away from this, when war was only an organizated aspect of the human nature, which is the strongest over the weak (like monkeys), a matter of instinct.
But wars like the ones happening nowadays and the Vietnam war are only matters of money.
There is nothing noble in any aspect whatsoever in the wars we have this days.

If you'd really seen that much shit you'd have more respect and humility. By you're rationale, all those British boys in Iraq and Afghanstan should quit complaining about lack of protective equipment, "get a grip" and "stop being weak" because "shit happens".
