...(continued from above) one's height, weight, one's hair texture or color, or one's ability to speak English without an accent. As for the word, Hispanic's historical meaning, it means white, European; and, to this day, this historical meaning is the way, it's used in Latin America. Latin Americans are as diverse as the entire population of the United States. I can't tell you how often I have spoken to Latin Americans who are perplexed at the misuse.
