  • why is the picture weird... how do i stretch it!?

  • Keep pressing 0 Ernie having a wank

  • @platypusboy cool!!

  • So, Bert and Ernie are presumably in their mid-30's, right? Why the fuck does Ernie have toys?

  • press 2 and ernie will say oranges

  • :) I used to love watching Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street when I was a kid, they were my favorite. :)

  • I watched this when I was a kid and cracked up. LOL

  • Ohrwtttrqtrrkf. .!:&/3:qhG:1€9~

  • What do you mean, IF Ernie was your roommate? My roommate must take lessons from him!

  • I though Ernie was grown up what happened?

  • @cheeto37 He is grown up, but he loves kid stuff!

    KHEEEE HEEE HEEE HEEE HEEE!

  • Ernie has the best laugh ever

  • Kermit n Fuzzy! :P

  • umm the ruberducky and the firetruck should have gone in last, so you don't have to throw all the toys out.

  • Good ringer Ernie.

  • and they americans don't understand irony..love it

  • Bert & Ernie, they were my favorites on Sesame Street because they were so funny! I was in 5th grade when Jim Henson died, I remember me and my classmates were sad to hear about his death. I'm glad they picked Steve Whitmire to continue as Ernie. Is Bert voiced by Eric Jacobson in this video, or Frank Oz, it's hard to tell. I must say Steve & Eric do pretty good in the newer skits.

  • "Under my ball!"

  • "Be still my beating heart LOL"

  • hes is just gonna take everything out again Bert gonna have a heart attack

  • is it just me or does ernie have kermits voice and bert has fozzie bears voice

  • If I lived with Ernie, I'd be just as cranky/annoyed as Bert usuall gets. :P

  • Bert's face at the end''it's the thought that counts'' he is also like he is saying ''why me?'' like he usually does when Ernie does shilly things.Bert's face cracks me up every time!

  • lol at berts face at the end

  • Jim Henson always taught kids important lessons. He never forgets that being naughty is an important part of childhood, which I believe sets his work apart. We all know as Jim clearly did, being naughty is FUN when no one gets hurt.

  • lmao why didnt he just put it on top haha

  • Because that wouldn't have been funny and would have been absolutely ridiculous.

  • Ernie always cooking Bert's brain. He really made his point...LOL

  • good short skit

  • Bert's monobrow lol.

  • Hold on my friend. Steve Whitmire performs most of Jim Henson's high pitched characters like Kermit & Ernie. And the reason why Kermit's not on Seasame anymore because of business reasons with Disney and stuff.

But yeah, Kermit and Ernie do sound higher and the personalites are changed. But at least it's something. Even though Jim wanted his creations to live on after his death, I don't fully agree. Everything is kind of falling apart. Only Muppet projects from 1991 - 1996 were cool to me. :)

  • Not it's because Sesame Workshop is too cheep to use Kermit.

  • Yeah, They still own clips of Kermit on Sesame Street. Sesame Workshop owns the rights to that. But they got to credit Muppet Studios LLC (used to be Muppets Holding Company LLC) for specialized permission for that and the use of the name "Muppet(s)"

  • I'd have thought Ernie would put the rubber duckie right at the top, since it's his favourite toy.

  • I was thinking that too.

And I noticed that you had a one thumbs down before. I have no idea who put that there so I fixed it for you. Some iqnorant Hippy perhaps. LOL

But anyway, this sketch is desent. Probably because Frank's in it.

  • no, not 31 seasons. Sesame Street is already at its 39th season. it premiered in 1969.

  • The new guy who does Bert is great, the new guy who does Ernie isn't so great

  • Excuse me but Frank Oz still does Bert, as well as Grover and Cookie Monster. Ernie is done by Brian Henson, the son of Jim Henson and I think he does Ernie great. Kermit however he does not do very well which is why you rarely see Kermit the Frog on Sesame Street anymore.

  • I think they signed over the rights to all the muppets including kermit to Disney excluding the SS characters.

  • Actually Brian, despie popular belief, does not and has never performed Kermit or Ernie, They are both now performed by Jim Henson's long-time colleague Steve Whitmire, performer of Rizzo the Rat and Bean Bunny. He actually does a really good Kermit, (though it did take a year or two for him to really nail it ) its just that in February 2000 the were purchased by the german network EM. TV and the Sesame muppets and merchandising rights were sold to CTW, now caled Sesame Workshop.

  • oops I was actually responding to xpander2k

so like I was saying before the word limit cut me off

In 2001 EM. Tv was really hurting financially and after long talks sold the Jim Henson Company back to Jim Henson's five kids just in time for season 32 which had Kermit's last new appearance on Sesame; he was a reporter reporting about a hurricane that hit the street in Episode 3976 and was part of a story arc that lasted until 3980.

  • last installment I swear...

This is the part almost every fan knows:

In 2004 the Jim Henson Company sold the classic Muppets & the Bear in the Big Blue House charachters to Disney & Disney just flat out refuses to let JHC use the frog unless they pay an insane sum of money. That's why he's not on Sesame anymore, and why hes edited out of all the recent non-classic muppet JHC dvd releases where he was often used for intrductions, conclusions & linking footage. You're now an honorary fangeek. =)

  • theres a toy under his balls

  • be still my beating heart! I'm going to say that now!

  • Lol

  • Bert is so anal retentive... lmao

  • I took a special personality test recently. It determined which Sesame Street Character I was: I'm Bert! Will I guess that makes it official. Hmmm... maybe it's time I stopped plucking and let my unibrow grow in!

"I'd love to shove that Rubber-Ducky right down Ernie's big mouth! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

  • were is the test? i'd love to take it!

  • Sorry...I was responding to the post about a personality test to see which SS character you are.....does anyone know where the test is available? Thanks!!

  • Be still my beating heart!

  • "Be still, my beating heart" O.o -Bert LOL!!

  • If you look closely at 1:06, you'll see the sleeve to Ernie's right arm

  • I love Bert's line at the end: "It's the thought that counts".

  • I love the unibrow workout at the end

  • Frank Oz is still alive??? Then why was Bert ever done by Steve Whitmire??

  • steve whitmire actually started playing ernie after jim henson died. and when it comes to frank oz, he doesn't really work on sesame street anymore. eric jacobson performs bert most of the time now.

  • Frank occasionally continues to perform his characters a few times per year though.

  • ernie is so funny. i love him

  • ernie looks so cute. i love him too.

  • ernie is just like me :p

  • he's like me too!

  • your actually cleaning

    stop my beating heart!

  • "i know how much you don't like messes bert!"

    "you can say that again"

"i know how much you don't like messes bert! (laughs like ernie)

  • "you're actually cleaning up bestill my beating heart"

  • Bert at the end: "Well, its the thought that counts!"

  • I recorded this on tape!

  • This is cute, but I'am still looking for the one where Ernie is putting away all fire engines, all the big toys, all the red toys... and leaving a huge pile of non-big non-red ones still out for Bert.

  • Frank Oz is doing Bert here.

  • Steve Whitmire may not have seen Jim Henson perform Ernie, but in this sketch, he actually captured the character pretty well.

  • I wish Jim Henson was not dead. He would still make a great Ernie here.

  • "Sesame Street" could still be like this if it wasn't for Elmo.

  • Steve Whitmire does Ernie here. What year is this from? It looks pretty recent.

  • This episode number was in the 3800's, which I think was in 2000 or 2001. Not sure if this appeared in an earlier episode.

  • This is from Season 31.

  • @sesamestreet66 3800?
