Rebecca Lynn Howard is awesome live as well in the studio! One of the most underrated singers in country music! Regardless of the song, she always delivers a great performance! Give credit where credit is due!
dam... i know she's good but sometimes country people just have to leave black songs alone... you can;t beat Renee Geyer or Phoebe Snow singing this cover.
This lady is such a great songwriter and can sing. I feel she has not gotten the attention she so deserves. Forgive is my favorite. If you get a chance to see this lady when she comes to your town for an event, go and meet her. Very impressive.
I still say her best song ever was Out Here In The Water. I love that tune.
BTW, I have several pro vocal processors in my home studio. While I can make my voice sound pretty damn good I can't get close to her caliber. You think it's so easy? Your piece of shit Wii mic is missing most of your mistakes. Can you get a foot and a half away from a standard karaoke mic or your Wii mic? I think not. Try a 48 volt powered condenser mic then come back and make your claim.
For all those who are saying she only sounds good in a studio, I was within a few feet from the stage for Rebecca's concert at the KY Apple Festival tonight and she rocked it! She sounds FANTASTIC live, better then in studio or on CD.
and for these people saying that she doesn't sound good except for in studio, you obviously haven't seen her live, because she sounds better live than in studio. her voice is pretty great, even if I don't like country music.
She's from magoffin county in Kentucky, and she comes here every year for an event called community day, and does a show for thousands of people, and she even tends to tell the stories behind her songs. Proud of you Rebecca!
Becky has been singing since 1994, with 4 albums under her belt. Have you hit "Rock Star: on Rock Band yet? If not, quit criticizing her and try at that high score teen.
I mean, anyone can be good if your a nun, thats part of the job. But what if Mother Teresa were a truck driver, or an astronaut, would she be as great?
I doubt it, its just perspective.
Sorta like what I was saying at the beginning about RLH, sure, as a singer, in a studio she's great, but what if she worked at a drive thru?
and she had to sing through one of those mikes?
would she be as good?
i doubt it.
Like i said, all things considered, I am as good as her.
I LOVE THIS SONG i forgot about it 4 a while until i heard it again!!

oh sure she sounds great,
but if you have a studio, anyone can sound great.
I mean, nothing against her, I am sure she is sweet,
but I could sing that good too,
(if i were in a studio, that is)

There's a difference between singing live in the studio and the sound of a studio album after post processing....
And could you write it?

Like me, I have "Rock Band" for my wii
and i use the vocal modulator thingee, and I am singing almost like a pro myself.
I mean, people always want to give some people props, but you have to put things in perspective.
Like Mother Teresa for example, they're always like "oh she's so great"
but what they don't take into account is that she was a nun.

RLH knocks another one out of the park.
Btw, it's spelled "shaky", unless you're talking about the pizza place Shakey's.
