The best comedy is from Australia and the UK. America is only good for samey sitcoms in front of a "live studio audience" but programmes like Kath and Kim and Fawlty Towers are classics!

I really love Molly Shannon esp as Mary Katherine Gallagher (and Selma Blair) but it just doesn't compare to the Australian version...Something is certainly 'Lost in translation'...Love the Australian version and everything by Jane Turner, Gina Riley (and Madga!) but this is just mediocre.

It's not as good as the original but I still think it's pretty descent. I think if they made it too much like the aussie version people would be complaining just as much as they are now because it would be a complete rip off of the original. I think we need to look at it objectively, though it's hard. I love the American Office, much more than I love the British one. Also, I find Selma Blair rather amusing.

I agree, I had a few genuine laughs. It's hard to get into when the Aussie Kath & Kim is so much better developed, but hopefully they will bring it up to speed. Many key elements have been carried over so the basic flavour is there. Of course there is no Magda Szubanski character since only one person in the world can do that! This is a great Aussie export, all credit to the creators, hope the yanks make a real go of it.
