  • frakking incredible song from a frakking incredible series..was so sad when it ended

  • "dad, i'll bring it back." "you better, or i'll kick your ass. it's a good lighter." MY. HEART. <3

  • This is the sound of Admiral's tears

  • Who else wanted to cry a bit.

  • Not sure, but think this is a Scottish folk song. but, done better.

  • this would sound fucking epic in real life with bagpipes and flutes and all that shit

  • @Bruce400222 You should search out some Scottish drum festivals, will freak you out!

  • Favourite moments of whole series are with this beutiful theme. Lee destroying ore station or sacrifiing Pegasus and saving the fleet. Thats when a good show makes you start caring.

  • @Andreass277 It was a bad military decision. But damn, what a great scene!

  • @Andreass277 In all that emotion, my favorite part was Adama in the CIC hollering at someone to 'pass up the cord!'.

  • the scene just before this is by far the best scene of the of the entire fracking show. season 1 or two episode 10? its so cool 'D

  • i love me some adamadaddy love

  • If you die with William Adama's lighter he'll kick your ass.

  • @mcjacobs2488 its Joe Adamas lighter^^

  • @Bennymiles its actually his grandfathers

  • @saygire i know^^

  • does this song give anyone else the fracking chills?

  • @Joshin8r Yes ;_;

  • @Joshin8r Even have to ask that?! :)

  • "Es ist ein gutes Feuerzeug" "ich bringe es dir wieder" "Das will ich hoffen, sonst trete ich dir in den Hintern!"

  • I loved how the Adama theme had this great scotch/gaelic "homey" feel. I thought it was perfect for the characters and kind of brought everything back to an olden days sea faring sailing vessel feel.

  • They should of had 7 seasons im so sad that i was able to watch all of it in a month. anyways great show. cried at the ending like i did in ds9......i guess the feeling of a family that has been through so much together, and are breaking apart is what saddens me the most.

  • @AdmiraITuvok Yeah, I hate it when an awesome series comes to an end. But what's more sad is when they cancel a really good show! I mean, if you have watched the show Stargate Universe, it got cancelled after 2 seasons! I was really disappointed about that. Because atleast these shows DID have an actual ending, and not left in some big cliffhanger and never finishes!

  • @starflame34 havent seen SGU but when i hear good show cancelled... i think firefly... only 1 season of an amazing show

  • @ThurgenW Like what is with outer space sci-fi series today!? There isn't any I know of besides Doctor Who that is going on now.

  • @starflame34 And the latest seasons of Dr. Who suck balls. Firefly could've been epic...

  • This song makes me want to embrace who am and shout it to the world. One of the best songs from BSG. So say we all, bitches.

  • Lee-Dad, I'll bring it back.

Adama-You better, or I'll kick your ass. It's a good lighter.

  • best show of all time

  • Listening to this song honestly lifts my spirits

  • Very nice series!very nice music

  • When i listen to this, I have a feeling of overwhelming beauty. Something that is far too great for me, and also that frustration of knowing the location of this beauty and wanting to have it then show it to all the world.. but not being able to, like a brick wall. A feeling that i can only find a cure for in my girlfriend... i hope we can listen to this together sometime :)

  • as much as I was looking forward to Caprica this scene Adama said his mother gave it to his father during law school, but he and his (same name brother) had different mothers and he was out of law school when remarried. Unless he knew that chick before the time of "Caprica". Not that it matters. Long live BSG so say we all.

  • You would have to be crazy to say Star Trek and SG1 didn't have as soul. Though I get what you mean.

  • @GeneralArrow Indeed. All the Star Trek series had their charm and Stargate is just great in it's own right, but BSG is more real and human than any of them could ever hope to be.

  • @GeneralArrow Star Trek is different, it was like the idea of hope in our future mixed with interesting characters . To me anyway.

  • Every time I hear this, I just wanna go and throw on the show

  • so say we all !!

  • I never realized how much this show meant to me until I finished watching it today. I was heartbroken it was over. I feel complete though, and quoting Kara, this song makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. Those are the best songs.

  • @tywhite3 Agreed. I think my eyes welled up a little during the scene that this piece was introduced. Absolutely perfect.

  • @tywhite3 That's exactly how I felt.

  • This song gives me goosebumps everytime i hear it

  • Amazing music...I miss this show

  • we will always live on in one form or anther and thats what this show sort of shows us i mean from being 12 great and powerful planets united under one flage to a fleet of ships that should have never lasted as long as they did it's brillent

  • BAttlestar Galactica was a show compiled of deep emotional meaning. Today Japan was struck by tidal waves and massive earthquakes. It is said by prophets in our world, that this is the beginning of our end. I believe that like in BSG, that despite all fears and when all hope looks be lost, We Can never give up. There is but one race and that is the human race.So say we all...

  • @moreblack101

Umm dude, who are these prophets?

  • SO SAY WE ALL!

  • @starwarsfreak225 gods tell me about it. no tv show has ever touched me this deep. i really think this is the best tv show ever produced. from the actors, the story, and especially the soundtrack, everything is just about perfect. nothing left to be wished for, just plain good.

  • Maybe the only vid on YouTube with 0 dislikes.

I mean when you hear it...you can't press that button.

  • so say we all :)

  • @dphoenixx so say we all

  • Is it geeky if I want this played at my funeral?

  • @flockofmurlock Maybe not. I knew someone who had this played on their wedding though.

  • @JediNg135 Plan on having this played at my wedding as well as the Colonial Anthem as our walk out processional.

  • @JediNg135 hmmm, maybe not the last who plays this on a wedding, my girlfriend love it too...

  • @flockofmurlock Who gives a frak?

  • @flockofmurlock Not at all! I had Roslin and Adama played during my wifes and mine wedding. And to be honest I would wish this played at the end time of my life as well.

  • @flockofmurlock not at all. I do too. This and Wander My Friends.

  • @flockofmurlock God no. I want this played at mine!

  • @flockofmurlock Dude, I would so want this at my funeral. no doubt about it.

  • @flockofmurlock

it´s not geeky, i want that too......

  • @Mattingly97

just an opinion... nothing to flame at... but you guys will anyway, so... I guess I should say feel free to flame... :(

When all mankind unites as one, and we fly amongst the stars to protect our home ... Earth... not as many country that we call "union" or whatever... but as one race... then we shall listen to this masterpiece as our anthem. Until then. none deserves it... not a single living person on Earth...

    ...not yet...

  • whats the title of the hummed version of this song? i tried to find it but can't D: help plox ^^

  • @happosai27 Wander My Friends? It isn't really hummed, but it is this plus vocals basically.

  • @willthack13 ah thanks ^^ ill try. i think the song i mean't played during a speech in the beginning. but i could be wrong

  • @happosai27 its roslin and adam and good choise

  • I liked this piece most in the scene where Commander Lee Adama goes to the Pegasus and says goodbye to Admiral Adama.

  • lol

    no way

bsg brings me to tears every time

    the music is so awesome

it is way better then star trek or stargate

  • :Dad, I'll bring it back.

You better, or I'll kick your ass. It's a good lighter."

  • Imagine funeral procession for a hero of a nation (any) walks under this music. EPIC!!! Heroes who have ever given up their lives for others will never be forgotten.

  • This show is probably the best I've ever seen. If Commander/Admiral William Adama was a real person he should be the leader of humanity. Seriously. Shoot all the leaders world wide and put him in charge.

This show had great actors, great music, great effects, great story (shit... it had AMAZING story), It was miles wide and miles deep. For me, always the best....

  • @Collector2006 best not... He'd jump Galactica over Kabul, Afganistan and launch Vipers!

  • @Trek001 lol :)

  • @Trek001 As you know, there was an explosion a few hours ago. I intend to stop them. THIS IS A MISSION I HAVE CHOSEN FOR MYSELF. IF IT TURNS OUT THAT THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH PERSONEL TO CREW GALACTICA, THEN I WILL LEAD A RAPTOR ASSAULT WITH ANYONE WHO IS WILLING TO JOIN ME

  • Absolutely beautiful. To Galactica.

  • Like no other TV Show BSG gives us the message to soldier on, never to give up and face all problems that may occur in our life´s. Cause the Night is always darkest before the Sunrise and what ever you may think, the light will come back again and a new Day will arise. This message is what makes BSG so exceptional and will give it´s actors and creator´s a piece of immortality.

  • Everyone involved in the making of this song needs a medal.

  • I am a fan of both Star Trek and BSG. With that said, I need to quote Scotty on this song: this song definately, "Brought a tear to me eye."

  • SPOILER for the guys who havent seen all episodes:

The time when i was literly cry'd was when Apollo saves the Galactica from the cylon star ships. The face when Adama realized his death made my eyes shiny

  • i want this on my funeral !

  • anyone else hear a clicking noise?

  • @MrSleightofMind No, it's in your head. That can't be a good sign.

  • i want this played at my funeral . its such a beautiful piece of music

  • so many breathtaking and sad moments in this show. when adama launched the last viper from that great ship i nearly cried.

  • This music, turns bad days, into happier ones...

thinking about everything the crew on galactica went through, totally an uplifting experience

  • Remaking an existing serie. it is the most difficult things their is in making a serie.

Battlestar galactica was one of the few serie's wich where better then the origenal

The music is one of those things aswel. My dad was a fan of the old BSG series. And he said=This is how i wanted to see it end.

  • Caprica !!!

  • omg...:X:X:X so nice....sounds just a little bit like titanic....it just reminds me of titanic;)) LOVE IT

  • Best Tv show with Best music for tv show ever, whoever disagree's is just a narrow minded sheep who need's to grow a brain!

  • @Replicatorz Agreed! It is the best show and it still is awesome if you dont like sci fi because of the morale and real world issues that the show tackles in each and every episode.

  • does anyone know what instrument it is?

(it fits for the mood xD)

  • Stimmt ;)

  • Celtic music is VERY powerful, one of the oldest music on record

  • BSG has a soul, unlike Star Trek, SG1/Atlantis, and other scifi shows it connected to all of us on a spiritual level

  • I agree. I suppose those shows have their place, but they certainly couldn't bring me to the tears practically like BSG managed to do, the scene in which this piece was first used for example. Amazing show. Amazing soundtrack

  • I couldn't agree more.

I'm quite tough, but BSG managed to make me soppy on numerous occasions.

  • @InfiniteZen Haha me too! BSG has a lot of real world issues underneath it's sci fi setting which is why I think it's so moving & popular. Just wish they continue adding on the BSG 2004 remake :(

  • @JediNg135 Yeah... You hit that one on the money. I still get a lump in my throat when I watch the last act in "Flight of the Pheonix." Just incredibly emotional television. You don't see it very often.

  • @JediNg135 and the other shows could never manage the shock at the end of season one I think when adonma gets shot

  • @JediNg135 You know, normally if i heard somebody say a show brought them to tears, id roll my eyes and think "god get a grip". But Roslins last scenes in the last episode actually made me get a tear or two! This is saying something to the strength of BSG because nothing, EVER, makes me cry!

  • Too bad you don't know what you're talking about. If Star Trek TNG has no soul, then the world is a lie.

  • @McNea1234 I actually liked Stargate on those levels. Star trek was like only Technology and stuff.

SG1, SGA and BSG had everything i wanted to see in a good show.

  • @McNea1234 Your spirituality is evidently underdeveloped.

  • @McNea1234 I disagree with you about SG-1, Atlantis and SGU (especially SGU), but I do see what you're getting at; BSG is the greatest sci-fi show ever made.

  • @McNea1234 I totally agree with you. BSG went somewhere no other show could go, made me think about life in general on many many levels. It also inspired me to be a better person.

  • @McNea1234 we felt like we were part of that family. we felt loss, pride, happiness, sadness. we felt what they felt and thought we belonged to galactica just like the cast did.

  • @McNea1234

If you say so, preacher man.

  • I agree with both WordoftheSenate and JediNg135 i got really touched by Battlestar Galactica because it had something that other sci-fi series dont have.

  • Yeah, it makes sometimes crying....

Ist the real father-son Theme. The only one!

  • lmao flipping through it i thought at 0:43 sounds like titanic... what a lame movie

(but yeah i cried when i watched it -.- never let go!..lol)

  • This song almost makes me cry when I hear it. This happen to anyone else?

  • Yup. Me.

  • @Servbot33 Fag

  • Butt sex!

  • I have never missed a TV show the way I miss this one.

  • I can't really listen to this now that the show is over. It makes me too sad.

  • Me too =[

  • It does hurt. It's like saying goodbye to an old friend...for good. Thank the gods for reruns and DVDs.

  • Yep. But cheer up. Caprica has a twenty episode committment and it comes on next winter! Plus, The Plan comes out this fall! I'm graduating from law school in a couple months. This will be playing on the stereo as I drive away...

  • But it won't be the same =/

No other show has come close to having that serious atmosphere that Galactica put on screen..

Every other show feels like i'm watching a joke, after having seen Galactica =/

  • @JediNg135 I think I feel the same too. BSG was so finely crafted and dealt with themes that have plagued humankind for so long, other stuff seems just grey by comparison. They just seem 2 dimensional and I must say, BSG put British TV drama to shame. That 3rd dimension I think is only very rarely reached and in almost 50 years of watching TV I have only seen it a handful of times, BSG was one of them.

  • @JediNg135 you are right on all conts, cept for one. i suggest watching none other than babylonn 5. captain sheridan has many moments when he comes to equal if not more powerful a speaker than adama. we talking about a guy who fought three wars. and came back form the dead literally.

  • @TheSundown2010 Hey. I forget which message you are responding to lol but I've watched all of B5. Yeah Sheridan had many moments but I couldn't really invest myself in the show as much. I felt the ending was quite sad too though.

  • the same for me

  • Comment removed

  • @A7XRules4life same

  • @A7XRules4life I know that feeling D:

  • Bear McCreary ROCKS!!

  • I got such a buzz when i heard this for the first time in the series

  • So say we all.

  • Odd... Reminds me of Titanic...

  • That would be the panpipes.

  • Well, it's not the instrument, it's the melody.

  • Thank you for sharing this with us! I know hundreds of soundtracks, and I think this is one of the best I've ever heard!

had to find it when i heard it in an episode :)

  • I agree =]

  • This track, along with "Wander My Friends", "Reuniting the Fleet" and "Admiral and Commander" are my favourites.

    So say we all!

  • Nice. You like that Adama theme that they use in basically each of those pieces I see =]

  • I know. That tune is the best one in the series. I makes me feel sad, hopeful, depressed, nostalgic, love and...far too many other tings

  • Yeah all at the same time. Its awesome!
