  • Nice demonstration. I did the same, but I have a problem with sound. When I try to watch movies using the TV screen, the image is fine, but the sound keeps breaking each 6 seg... what can I do to avoid it?

Right now, I watch the movie on the TV, using the iMac internal sound.

    Thanks!

  • Great product, haha i should start purchasing from Amazon. I purchased the exact same cord from London Drugs here in Canada for roughly $40 with taxes. Besides that its a great product, and when you get 2 monitors youll never go back to 1.

  • Thanks!

  • i have the new Mac 21.5 does this cable work for it?

  • lol his monitor looks like a gigantic iPad lol

  • zon

  • Could i connect my pc into the imac? Use it as a monitor

  • Problem here I got a VGA adaptor for my mac, but it duplicates my screen, and not expands it - any solution?

  • @Evilnils Go to System preferences > Displays > Arrangement and make sure the 'Mirror Displays' box on the bottom left isn't ticked.

  • @mightymikey246 Thank god, got it solved - I had it expanded on my PC screen, but duplicated on my TV - Got it solved tho, Thanks.

  • to be honest ur sick!!!, i luv ur dual monitor setup

  • the iMac is great and powerful but i think I'm going to get a macbook also thats how cool it is ima have to work and spen a month of rent on it lol

  • I read some of the reviews on amazon. They say those Apple Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter last for a short time then die. Is yours still working?

  • @wastnTIMEwastnTIME Well, I've had mine for just over a year now and had no problems with it at all. Still working fine.

  • @wastnTIMEwastnTIME Mine lasted for about 10 months and died on me last night. I only unplugged and plugged back into my MBP about 5 times. So guessing you do not touch the thing or remove then the adaptor will have a much longer life. It is not designed to be plugged in and out because it is made pretty cheap.

  • @ibanez0830 I ended up buying a mini display port to HDMI cable instead of the adapter. It was about $16 but it looked like it would last longer than the adapters. It works great. The picture on my TV looks better than the picture on my MAC. I guess I have the "old mac" from a couple of years ago and can't get the sound to come out of my TV speakers. I tried the "audio in" to the TV and plugged the other end to the headphone jack of the Mac using an adapter. Works for my stereo but not the TV.

  • Should i get an imac or macbook pro i dont know which one to get ???

  • @RnBxMaGiKzZ It really depends on the person you are. If you are a power user, and don't mind not being able to take it everywhere, I recommend the iMac. However, if you like to take your pc on holidays or to school, take the macbook pro.

  • @mightymikey246 Im gonna go for the 21.5 imac because i have a laptop at the moment so it will be all good.

    Cheers for your opinion m8

  • When you say 'HDMI' the 'H' is silent, you don't make it sound like 'Haych-DMI' you make it sound like 'aych-DMI'

  • @ledwatch Apologies. But I do pronounce the H..

  • can you do this with a tv?

  • @you7tube24 I believe so, yes. As long as it has a HDMI.

  • will this work: plugging it into my xbox 360 instead of the tv and using my imac as a monitor for my xbox ?

  • @MrLeathalweapon Unfortunately no. If you want to use your iMac as a monitor for the xbox, you need to purchase something like a Kanex XD. They are rather pricey..

  • @mightymikey246 oh ok thanks for the help ill sub

  • will this still work with the new "thunderbolt" port on the back of my imac?

  • is that a 21 or 27 in imac??

  • @SouthMafia 27 inch ;)

  • will this still work with the new "thunderbolt" port on the back of my imac?

  • @jonathanbrann I believe so. Not sure if you need a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter or something though..

  • @jonathanbrann the "normal" adapter from Apple works with no problems at all (using one right now) I believe that you will have no probs with this either.

  • i got a problem at the beginning it worked but now it just doesnt detect the tv help please

  • Philips display

  • What kind of monitor is that

  • Where can i get the monitor u had in this video

  • Thanks for the help, got used to a second motor way back when for photo retouch and now I have to use two.

  • this is the coolestr thing ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • do i need 2 graphics card on my imac for 1920x1080 on both screens?

  • @VelocityM0RGi3 Well, for starters, you cannot upgrade the specs of an iMac so you cannot put 2 graphics cards in it. One graphics card is enough for both screens.

  • @VelocityM0RGi3 If your asking a question like that. You don't deserve a computer. Im a pc user, and i have a power mac g4. Like a pc, its as simple as plug it into the second display port on the machine. Jeez. It can't be made simpler without a apple rep coming to your home and doing it for you.

  • i click the fucking screen like 6 times and it goes to another yt page...fuck delete this !!!!!!!!!!

  • Can you use a thunderbolt port as an mini display port

  • i think is an 2008, i guess i will go the old school way and connect a long enough aux cable and some speakers and connect them with an aux union.

  • okay i ordered the adapter, i wasnt able to get the audio, my mac doenst recognize the audio under the outputs on the sound, how can i fix ?

  • @chuccowah How old is your mac? Because I read that the audio support only works on MacBooks from 2010 and onwards (i5 and i7) , and the iMac's from 2009 onwards.

  • Measly. xD

  • does this cable support the audio also ? or just the video ?

  • @chuccowah Supports audio too!

  • @chuccowah just make sure that you have a audio output port, pre 2010 macs that have a mini dvi to hdmi to hdmi to monitor setup will not support audio

  • can u do the same thing with HP laptops. (theyre both running on Windows 7)

  • @PenguinProductionsCO those are also plug and play, you just connect and they work seamlessly....

  • thanks for the video, when you connect the second display does it change the resolution or colours on your iMac screen at all?

  • @MichaelEffort Nope, both the resolution and colours stay the same on your iMac.

  • @mightymikey246 Can you do this with a mac pro. I want 3 horizontal monitors for music production can i do this ? please get back to me asap

  • @jonnik2421 Im 95% sure you can triple monitor a Mac Pro. I've seen setups with it before so..

  • @mightymikey246 Cheers ;D

  • What do you do to make it where exactly whats on your imac screen is on your tv?

  • @Idontcare9876543210 You have to go into the settings, the display bit, then select mirror displays.

  • what kind of monitor stand is that?

  • @thovocastro Its the omnimount WS3. Its a double arm mount so really handy. Recommend, but its expensive.

  • Damn that's nice , i'm gonna have the same configuration soon !!! macosX's greeeat ...

  • What monitor is that?

  • @iiconHD Its the Fujitsu Amilo XL 3220T.

  • Epic desktop. :O
