the old toyos were good like the celica all track with the 2.2 turbo, the old levin and trueno (85-86 corollas) are fun little cars that are great for learning to drift in, and of course the supra turbos (all of which (if you include the rwd part of the corolla) they dont make anymore)

Every GM car in every category is cheaper than the competition. Sure, the competition is usually more desirable, but you can't really beat GM or Ford's value.
The Altima 3.5 is looks better, handles better, and goes faster than an Impala. But the Impala could be had for $10,000 less, and gets similar MPG and reliability.
Back in '05 I bought a used '05 Impala with 12,000 miles for $12,500k. I doubt there's any other vehicle on the planet that could give me the same acceleration, efficiency and comfort at the same price.

i got a 2001 chevrolet tahoe LS with the 5.3 327, and it will go to 300,000 and the only thing that messed up on it is the out of date wire harness for the fuel pump, and aslong as its taking care of it'l go for ever. now true the interior is now the best but the drivetrain is great, and i cant tow and gas it without wearing out my tansmission and i still get 20 mpg (it was 25 before ethanol) and id rather be in that than some little sweat box piece of toyota crap!

Depends on your priorities. There's no question that DOHC gets more power, but it's also more expensive and SOHC or pushrods tend to get better MPG. Some pushrod V6s and V8s get better MPG than import 4 bangers.
Pushrod engines are also very compact in external physical dimensions. A pushrod V8 takes up about the same amount of space under the hood as a DOHC V6.

the old toyos were good like the celica all track with the 2.2 turbo, the old levin and trueno (85-86 corollas) are fun little cars that are great for learning to drift in, and of course the supra turbos (all of which (if you include the rwd part of the corolla) they dont make anymore)

I'm an American and have a Toyota and a Ford F150. The problem is that although GM was "lent" the money, its very theoretical to think that they're going to pay all the money back to the taxpayers. Look at the GM bondholders; Obama says they MUST accept 10 cents to the dollar on the money they receive when GM sells all its assets. Thats scary to me.

That proves you've never owned an American car. Yank tanks definitely have their faults (and European cars do have better driving dynamics), but I've had Buicks and Chevys that lasted 250,000 miles without so much as a few quarts of oil and a belt here or there. That old stereotype is completely wrong. American cars aren't fancy, but they're reliable. Problem is, other than trucks, everyone here would rather buy a used BMW than a new Chevy for the same price.

Every GM car in every category is cheaper than the competition. Sure, the competition is usually more desirable, but you can't really beat GM or Ford's value.
The Altima 3.5 is looks better, handles better, and goes faster than an Impala. But the Impala could be had for $10,000 less, and gets similar MPG and reliability.

well id say v8s do get good mpg, but what really makes it drop is the ethanol in the gas. but bigger cars need a bigger motor, putting something small in some that needs somthing big is dumb, itll just stress out your tranny and will take more gas. but yes they interior and body parts! i want less plastic and more american steel parts! and more dead cow interior for half the price!

i got a 2001 chevrolet tahoe LS with the 5.3 327, and it will go to 300,000 and the only thing that messed up on it is the out of date wire harness for the fuel pump, and aslong as its taking care of it'l go for ever. now true the interior is now the best but the drivetrain is great, and i cant tow and gas it without wearing out my tansmission and i still get 20 mpg (it was 25 before ethanol) and id rather be in that than some little sweat box piece of toyota crap!

Depends on your priorities. There's no question that DOHC gets more power, but it's also more expensive and SOHC or pushrods tend to get better MPG. Some pushrod V6s and V8s get better MPG than import 4 bangers.
Pushrod engines are also very compact in external physical dimensions. A pushrod V8 takes up about the same amount of space under the hood as a DOHC V6.
