Didn't think much of it. 95 % of the team really isn't doing anything for at least 2 hours, and watching this sport actually takes practice for me. If I were to watch a game, I would actually have to force myself to do it. After playing six years in baseball, I quit and started up on basketball, football, and soccer. I'm sooo glad I did.

This is how to play baseball:
Offense: Hit a ball (Hardest part) and run around 3 bases
Defense: Hit the guy whos running with the ball, catch it, or throw it to someone.
Positions: Pitcher, throw the ball (Hardest position)
Batter: Hit the ball and jog your ass!
Bases: Stand by a base and hope for the ball to come to you
Outfield: Stand far away and hope for the ball to come to you
Catcher: Stand behind the batter for the whole game

Managers tries to put the best lineup possible to win the games. The lineup is often depended on who the pitcher is. There will be different starting lineups in every game.

And no, the few milliseconds before the swing, and when the bat physically hits the ball, you can't see the baseball. That's because everything is happening so fast. But before that you have already timed out the pitch, started out your swings/begun to swing, and know that you are either going to hit it or not. You obviously haven't played baseball, so you have no clue.
