John is one of the nicest guys who ever worked with Elvis. Once you meet him, you never forget him. Deserved a better hand than what he was dealt at the end. God bless, John. - JG
@JohnnyGGN At the beginning of Elvis on Tour, Elvis tells a story about his father when Elvis was a teenager working for Crown Electric Company in Memphis back in the early 50's. Elvis was also interested in music. He said his "daddy had seen a lot people who played guitars and stuff and didn't work" and he told Elvis he should "make up his mind about being an electrician or playing the guitar". He quotes his father as saying, "I never seen a guitar player that was worth a damn."
I'll always love you John! Thanks for all you have done. Even after Elvis' passing. God Bess you always and know we all are with you always.. Praying for you and supporting you in very way! Thanks for the memories my friend!!

So it was John that told Elvis he could not play a guitar wordt a damn.
Elvis actually said that it an interview, I believe it was in the beginning of the On Tour documentary

@JohnnyGGN Which of course, was pure B.S. Listen to Elvis leading the band on "Elvis is Back" with a driving rhythm guitar...

Wow, Johnny looks really good in this footage. I met Johnny in 2005 and in 2007 and he looked a little frail. Go Johnny ... Go! Nice footage.
