Do they bite? I had a teacher in school years ago who was walking to her car and an american cockroach flew into her hair. I guess she didn't notice it, until it started chewing at her scalp. *shutter*
@Dimrain48 Uh, perhaps that they would be very helpful to the ecosystem? There are around 6,000 species of roach, and only 9 are pests to humans. The rest live in the soil, where the eat decaying matter, serve as food to many animals, & some species are pollinators. The Asian cockroach, Blattella asahinai, is a predator of boll worm larvae, which destroy crops. (to be cont.)...
@Dimrain48 ...They also eat the eggs of the beet armyworm - a pest to cotton, cabbage & a variety of other crops. Farmers release these roaches into their crops for this purpose. Termites are cockroaches, and they are enormously important to the health of forests. Now, shoo.
@PenanggalanMonster So they are decomposers? Well either way, I've held a turantula before, but Raoches, Something about how they look, and how fast they are etc. Just scares me.
now ive been raising roaches for over 4 years but i just have to stare in awe everytime i see one of these, and say to myself "JESUS FUCK THATS A BIG ROACH!!!!"
this has got to be the prettiest roach on the planet.
