You can get GTA2 for free from R*'s website PC version. The only games I've played though are III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS (then again it's the most important one's aside from IV :P )

I can't believe it's in Liberty again. And hopefully they will make it for more systmes instead of the DS. And I wouldn't go as far as calling it GTA V I would say it's part of the chapter like. Vice City,San Andreas were part of GTA III chapter. In my opinion I don't think it will be that big since it's coming out this winter, I mean they just realeased GTA IV LOL.... not too long ago.
