Pure awesomeness. As a long time Star Wars fan (TESB is my fav), and as a video editor, my hat is off to you. Keep up the fine work. Check out the crowdsourced version of Star Wars that just went online yesterday. It's really cool. It took 3 years to make.
@kmkkid93 No it doesn't. Stop lying to your self. Enjoy the music because it isn't like the new dvd collection of episodes IV - VI, and it's probably the best disco you'll ever hear.
I don't understand. George Lucas insisted multiple times to replace the original special effects we all loved so much with sterile and unoriginal 3d ones. Insulting his own masterpiece and decreasing it's charm every time. He simply had to make a meco soundtrack spin-off! It would have been soooo much more interesting!
@227060 I am uncertain if this will work, but you can type in the following words: MECO RETURN OF THE JEDI. That is the simple method I used to find this video.
Last time I heard this song, it was spinng around a record, thats a long time ago. I was just a kid, I use to listen to it all the time. Technology is awesome.
The other night I was at a show by the Hoodoo Gurus and they played this track at the beginning and brought back memories but although like his close enounters one it is a bit cheesy, it still sounds great. Good vid too thanks for posting.
My father had the vinyl, and at the end of the track there is a much longer breathing of Darth vader, i think it's cut of at the end, what do you think ??
I gotta question! Why does the clip of the Slave One have no blaster fire. That wasnt in the movie 2:46 i can see where they are suppose to be but no where do i see an actually bolt.
My cousin had this on a 7". I remember him telling me how they did the laser sound effects using a telephone cable out in the desert in California or Arizona, I think it was. My recollection though was that at the end there was several seconds of Darth Vader's breathing which faded out. Am I remembering incorrectly, or did that get cut off?
The closest thing I have experienced in 30 years to the feeling of excitement the imminent release of this film generated. Thanks very much -nicely cut.
When this was on the charts, I religiously listened to "American Top 40" just to hear it. I liked his 'disco' Star War, but I liked his "Empire" much better.

They used to play this at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton when the Oilers would score. Needless to say, they played this a LOT back in the early 80's!
I use to put a flashlight on a turntable just to make cool "disco" looking lights to this song when I was a kid. I had this version on a Meco LP that also had the theme to Baretta and SWAT......OOHH how old I am !
This is a great tribute to one of the greatest movies of ANYONE's childhood (from age 5 to 100). You took everything great about the movie and wove it into four minutes! Thank you. I have this single on 45 rpm to this day, and will probably not let go of it til I am gone.
