when its standing up the most important air vent is being blocked and the top of the 360 when its standing is the hardrive so there is hadrly no space for the air to come out, trust me i have a 360 too.
ur xbox can get a red ring of death if u keep it satnding.. b/c all the heat builds up and the air that needs to go out is blocking b/c its standing up.. Just a little tip..
are you fucking blind? when its standing. it has all 3 sides where the holes are open and ventilated. when laying down, the left side of the 360 isnt ventilating.
@IHUGHESI they mean the heat rises away from the fans because even though the xbox has holes there useless because the acctuall 360 motherboard is encased in metal, so all the heat rises away which makes it over heat...
hey i have the 1st generation xbox 360 without hdmi port. If i connect the AV VGA cable to my 720p LCD 37" tv, will it be the same quality as using a hdmi cable?
I recommend a store the sound, thinking I bought this cable so that I will buy this cable will disappear those black bands on games like forza 2, Battlefield bad company, I had a surprise, the missing faixinhas, play a nec 15 lcd sansung, I recommend to all, great graphics, a lcd tv of 12 dollar per apeas!
that monitor was a Hannspree, bought in the UK for about £100, years ago.
your resolution you are talking about sounds like it is 4:3 so you will probably get letter boxing but could be wrong. If you can afford it, buy a cheap 16:9 (or 16:10) and just ensure the vertical pixel count is over 720
Hey, i have a 22" and a 19" LCD Monitor. Which monitor would work better with an Xbox 360 and which would be the best resolution to go with it. They are both 5ms - THANKS
I've bought a 22'' monitor with HDMI, so I want to connect the xbox through HDMI. Do I have to change any particular settings on my xbox or monitor? My xbox is being repaired so I can't check it yet. Thanx
none at all.. it's entirely separate. The only real difference between the component and VGA (apart from some dithering) is that it will upscale DVDs to HD
i also have a vga cable and it works fine. but the only thing is that when i play the games there is no sound, can you help me please. i do not know how to make there be sound. do i have to connect the red and white plugin cable into somwere for it to work, i have already tried pluggin it into my speakers but still no sound. thanks someone pm me on how to do it please
Quick Question, is a 19inch pc moniter with 1024 x 768 high def?, and if your moniter doesnt have a input for the red and white, will it still work? reply asap, thanks
i just picked up an envision 22" flat panel, which is capable of 1080p, and the xbox 360 vga cord all for about 240 bucks which is less money then paying for a 17" widescreen hdtv that would prob only go up to 720p
yeah your right mine has a usb,vga and dvi and no component, i did buy a dvi to hdmi for the xbox it worked perfectly but i got no audio so for now i give up if you or anyone have any ideas? pls let me now
Is it just me , or is it more immersive and fun when you play on a Monitor rather than a whole TV.I plugged my 360 into my Bravia but im gonna get a Monitor with a VGA HD cable cause I think itll be better.
i,ve noticed than when i use my snes etc,, to a vga box, despites the improvement,s, than the quality will generally be vissibly lower, wich result,s in lower, framerates,less/wrong colors,noise/artifact,s ,darker and less sharp images.
I'm gonna get my vga cable tomorrow but i'm going to use it on a crt 19" screen. Max resolution on it is 1600x1200 but i hear you can go max to 1240x1024, is that right?
Another question: does it matter if you take the first party cable or third party cable? I see a difference in price but do you get less with it then with the original one from xbox?
i'd assume it will go higher than 1024 height as it supports 1080p over VGA
never used a 3rd party one but i'd guess there's no difference apart from the look of it. Digital signal is digital signal... I bet side by side you'd never notice.
Wait, my current LCD screen resolution is at 1024x768. That is the setting on my desktop. The highest resolution is at 1440x900. Which one will it run at?
is it widescreen? or 4:3? It'll output at 720p if your resolution is 1280x1024... (if it's over XXXX x 720 it'll work as a 720p screen) if that makes sense!!
I actually prefer the VGA picture rather than the component picture of the 360. The component picture looks "burned out" paper like. It's hard to explain. I luv the fact that I can try different resolutions with the VGA--from 1024 X 768 to 1920 X 1080. WIth the component, it's only 1080i/p to 720p. Not to mention the component connection eats up too much screen.
Diamond Mate thats exatlly what i do on my 19 intch PHILIPS monitor brilliant quality and i have a small aplifier for the sound (youve got to hook u the small white and red cables on the VGA cable to the amp) witch is then hooked up to my logitec speakers my VGA cable is not offical its a madcats one witch i got from my local video game store (cost half as mutch and is alot simpler)
I want to know how I can put my 5.1 dolby surround on my pc monitor with xbox 360. Please help me out! What I do know is that I need a VGA AV HD CABLE and that I have NO headphone port in my surround.

Hey mate. Just one question: is 1280x1024 an output resolution for the 360 with VGA cable? If not will it output 1280x720 with the black bars or will it stretch the image? Just wondering because I have a 5:4 monitor. :(
at a guess i'd say you'll have bars. I used it on an old monitor to test it when i first got it - it looked great but the bars kinda ruined it! If you can pick up a similar sized widescreen for cheap, i would.

I'd definately go for the VGA than splash out on a HDTV but sometimes dont u think that the frame rate on some games is lowered when using the VGA cable? e.g Saints row.
using the first party VGA adapter and a cheap widescreen monitor. It works really well.. you just have to provide the speakers (i'm using old ones from a pc with a sub).
how do i get hd with vga? :S

Moniters will always be better than TV simply because they show a higher resolution.
ProudEnglishWarrior 3 years ago
whats good about computer monitors is that they can display at way higher resolutions than tv
the vertical pixel count is what they go by
so if a monitors res is 1600 vertically then u would have 1600p display. way better than the best tv, which is 1080p
