This movie was great but in a way I can understand the animosity towards it due to everything white appeared good. Alright,granted, Im not a history major or anything like that,but Wasnt the Persian War,You know the battle of Thermoplyae (or however its spelled), Platea, etc...wasn't it documented by Herodotus, a very biased historian, or rather, story teller. So to say that this movie was made to help the war effort is up surd. It was written based off of Herodotus' biased views,not based off of Miller's views. It wasn't made to make fun of a culture. But rather to entertain, that's all.

ITS A MOVIE. Get over it. Its a great movie and very nicely done. It has tons of positive messages and its based on a inspiring story. So be proud of your heritage YES by all means, but leave the art alone. Can't people just appreciate things instead of twisting it all towards there point.

I do agree with you that Hollywood twist both Persian and Greek history and i also agree that culture existed ofcourse before Greeks. I'm iranian, and I loved the movie, it really gets your adrenaline going. but damn, i never really thought about how everyone in farsi is "ishan" regardless of gender, or about a lot of the interesting things he said. I dont think he should have made all the negative comments about the greeks though. All cultures have their strong points, but all cultures also have things that they arent proud of. NO point dwelling on the past, but it is good to have your facts straight.
